It’s really amazing. I was driving down Siegen a couple of weeks ago around lunch time, and there was a line of cars in the left turn lane to get into the shopping center where Target, Jason’s Deli, etc. are located. There were probably 6-7 cars in line waiting to turn. The last 2 cars literally did not move an inch until the light had already turned red again. Both drivers (women) were just staring at their phones until the light turned red. Then they pulled up to the red light and both went back to their phones.

To answer OP’s question, I give them about 2.5-3 seconds. If I can tell they are looking at their phone I honk as soon as the car in front starts moving. shite is out of control.

Interesting thread. I'm surprised at so many people willing to wait 3 seconds or more - which is what I used to do. These days, if someone is looking down, I honk immediately. People get lost in their phones and completely zone out. They look up and then go, waving sorry as they just make it through before it turns red again, screwing everyone behind them. 9 times out of 10 they wave once you honk because they know that they were distracted.
