I’d wait as long as I need to, especially when I’d leave work to go to a dental appointment

So that means if we wait it out we get to charge you a late fee, right? Quit overbooking!!!

Well if you are condoning this behavior and you will still charge a patient of yours a missed appointment fee because you overbooked and/or you thought your time was more valuable than your patient's....you suck!

To the OP, take everyone else's advice and find a dentist who is more on time. That's the only control you really have.

as a dentist I can tell you that patients who bail last moment are lower than fricking pond scum. we charge a missed appointment fee...and you should be charged one also. suck it

Possible a troll. If not:

Assistant: Our next patient just walked out.
Dentist: Why?
Assistant: We were 45 minutes behind schedule, and apparently he has better things to do than wait around all day because we fricked up.
Dentist: Charge him!
Assistant: How?
Dentist: How should I know? I'm just a dentist.

I will get to you when I am damn well ready. You want me to drink that cup of coffee and have that snack in the break room before I drill on your tooth

Pretty rough life when your schedule gets disrupted by someone else having an emergency. Just awful man, that dentist should make the person in pain and agony pay you for taking up your time by having problems!
