He won’t do much. He’ll blame Biden like Biden blamed him. Like every politician blames the one before him unless they are from the same party.

Yet we sheep believe what they spew and we accept it.

Regardless of party.

We need a real third party in this country that represents us 60% in the middle.

those of you who voted for him based on policy are going to be disappointed.

One reason is he keeps promising things he cannot deliver. Presidents dont control prices.

Most of his economics are populist, and will not do much to alleviate the current situation, which is why he will just kick the can downt the road.

Its not a knock on him, no president wants to be in charge of a depression, which is about the only way the economy can be reset.

we are producing more oil than ever before, the president has nothing to do with oil prices, the saudis pretty much control the market

Of course we are but we can produce more if trump loosens regulations for drilling permits and pipelines.
We produce more than Saudi Arabia too so we control a lot in the overall worldwide supply.

Also, trump has made it clear that he wants to hurt Russia with lower oil prices.

The problem is that they can ramp up their production very quickly if they want to and it will hurt our economy.

Depression will come. Probably within 5-6 yrs. Idk? But voting? That never did anything good. If has, prove it. Cause as one said past 100yrs everyone’s been getting it wrong. It doesn’t work cause votes don’t count. Plain and simple.

Until the people can unite (which they’ve created an impossibility on that) nothing gets done.

“ clear that he wants to hurt Russia with lower oil prices.”

It has been stated countless times on this board if oil go below 60 with present state of technology the resource play struggle with economics.. big oil working on this but it will require technology not just a prez saying drill..

When gas at pump was below 2.00 at end of trump oil price per barrel had fallen from 90ish to 30 is due to Saudi’s flooding the market and covid impacting demand.. fwiw when Trump left office we had about 350 ish rigs drilling we now have over 600 rigs drilling.

Economics will dictate drilling activity.. we have leases being held by discovery but not being developed yet as it is.

If you kill Russia oil efforts you shut down us also.. big oil not drilling at a loss.

You do make some good points here. I think most of us realize our vote is based on campaign lies, and they are all full of crap.

Correct

There’ll be the short term increase in production which will bring prices down and then of prices get to certain level, producers will cut back.

Why is it amazing? People are saying food deflation never happens.

The only things that will help lower prices (outside of economic collapse) are innovation and competition.

Trumps economic policies run counter to these things occurring, his policies are inflationary. Its not going to happen.

Expand oil drilling and add pipelines to reduce cost of gasoline.

You don’t need more drilling. You need more refining and nobody has an appetite to build new refineries.

There were over a thousand rigs running in 2018. The rig count started dropping that same year and bottomed out in 2020. Current rig count is holding steady at 589.

Country is screwed. Plenty money to be made but we’re an upper 3rd world country. Won’t be long we’ll be right along with the rest. Desensitized to just about anything

There might be a possibility he can slow the rise, but prices are never coming down.

I don’t care if he succeeds or fails in what he plans to do with this term. It won’t affect me (I’m neither a friend nor enemy of mr trump). I do care that if he does attempt to make our markets less self determining, that he fails.

I am skeptical of his resolve, his competence and his mental state. Again, will likely hurt others but not likely me. if hurting people is his plan thru intent or thru indifference than yes, again I hope he fails

many people think that the POTUS is far more powerful than he really is, because Donald trump thinks he should be.

You are correct it was booming.

2018 barrel of oil at 92
2020 barrel of Oil at 27

2018 saudis flooding the market to drive independent oil companies out of resource plays to get market share back … then covid.. thus the decrease in the price at the pump..drilling industry shut down pretty much.

Saudis do this whenever they are not happy with their profit margins.

They have lots of legacy oil that cost well below cost of resource plays oil .

Global economics for the win

Yet he wants less influence around the world, at least military wise and basically is the reason the President has no authority over abortion anymore. I don’t believe he throws power around any more than any other president has over the last 50 years.
