They’ll always be the Indian mounds to me

Indian is a silly term given because Columbus was dumb and thought he was in a place he wasn't. It's one of the few PC things I don't mind and will actively say native American, however with that said, I think tribes often use the word Indian so in the end, who am I to demand how they choose to be referred to

Put respect on the man's name. He is the reason I and thousands of other Louisiana students are able to attend University (relatively) debt free

The Indian Mounds were cooked up by Huey P Long- when the school was having an Olympic pool installed there was a fallout with the contractors and rather than pony up for dirt removal, Long told them to get rekt and declared the dirt piles historic landmarks

I had a geography class at LSU in the late 1970's. The professor referred to them the "Mammary mounds". Every friday, he'd show the class a slideshow of some of his beer can collection. You can't make this stuff up.

What if Native Americans demanded the same thing as what African Americans have?

Wait, they weren’t named after our students of South Asian descent?

As for a new name, how about Twin Peaks.
By doing so they can have a sponsor because money is tight.
