Just know the intellect and mentality of the person you are asking just last week told me I must be a communist because I have the word "Russian" in my screen name.

Using that logic he must be a person of color because he has the word "brown" in his screen name...

I’m actually darker than some of my black friends. So it does fit.

Why is your name LSURussian?

I tried and didn’t find anything. But you are all upset that BR is paying off their debt with your money; yet you have no idea if they are and how much it is.

Does anyone know if the City of BR has any debts? Uptown Joe doesn’t know.

Ok since you want to play gotcha, here you go:

38.1 Million for City of BR debt.
Out of 52.4 Million they want to raid.

72.7% of the debt they want to use to pay off is the City of BR.

They are stealing Parish wide collected funds to pay off City of BR debt. Fact.

Now kindly….

I posted these details already, but I guess me trying to provide facts with long posts arent helpful here.
I guess it’s best to just make assumptions and opinion in short posts instead of quoting the facts while also providing links to those facts.

Thxs for posting that. I had never seen it before. You should have posted that before, it would have helped the discussion.

The 51 million dollar surplus is made up of property taxes from all over the parish.

Does anyone know what percentage of these taxes are BR? The rest of the parish? Could it be 50/50?

Never saw any facts.

I do not think those outside of BR should pay for police, and fire pension, if for the new police HQ.

I think it’s about 60/40 in favor of BR. I think. I tried looking it up and made some rough estimates.

What’s criminal is the City of BR has some of the highest sales tax rates in the country and still is in massive debt.

Just trust me bro!

Muh too long a ballot!

Over 72% is for City of BR debt but I always leave that out of my argument to vote yes.

COA is horribly corrupt. I can't support this in any way -with the current Board and especially staff.

At least fire Tasha Clark-Amar and at least give the appearance that they are trying to improve.

The fact that the LOUDEST proponent in this thread didn't even know (1) his property taxes immediately go up if it passes and (2) what the current rolled back library millage was says everything we need to know.

BR collects 2% sales tax for the general fund Is that high? I’d guess not.

BR pays a parish wide 1 cent sales tax for roads and a half cent for sewer.

Is that high, maybe do.
