Life would be unlivable. That's why God made all that shite.

Have you ever had a xanax or did someone just tell you this or what?
Okay. I understand your reply. If you recall, I said in a previous post "without the bad side effects".

Xanax works. No doubt. But... it makes me very uninhibited in my speech, basically removing all barriers in what I say. I like that when in a social setting. It can make for some lively conversations, but that is not something I can do with my work. The Saint John's Wort does a great job of providing a calmness during a high stress workday with deadlines and pressures to get out in front of projects and when speaking to a group of executives or military planners. In those settings, all I want to do is stay level-headed and calm. I have a problem when my ideas or numbers are challenged and I have to defend my position. I tend to tense up and get anxious. I used Xanax and it worked just too good and it made me more loose lipped than I needed to be. With using the herbal solution, I can still maintain my reservations without feeling stressed. This lets me play my cards the way I want to play them instead of letting the situation play me.

Does that explain it? Anyone looking for that sorta euphoric freedom and "over-confidence" that Xanax can give you would not be happy with St. John's Wort. For me, though, it provides exactly what I needed.

I quit smoking about 4 years ago, 2 pack a day smoker. I still have a vice with drinking coffee. I'm not a high on life type guy, although I do love life, even though none of that makes any sense I guess. I've learned the high on life people all seem shady as hell to me and for whatever reason I tend not to trust them through my life experience.

I shouldn't say all are like that, but the I don't need to smoke, have caffeine, drink alcohol, or eat fast food to enjoy life and all of ya'lls vices are a disgrace type people usually have something wrong with them. One in particular, according to ex wife that I knew, watched porn at least 5-6 hours a day. Not saying its a bad thing, but the way he talked to people about how great he was and so much above everyone who wasn't high on life like him, well, he had some hidden secrets that we didn't know about. Another was a closet pill head. Most of the I don't need vices type people have something secret and dark they don't want anyone to know about. Also, from what I've learned, most of them can't be trusted. Honestly, the smokers, whether dope or cigs, drinkers, tend to be the more trustworthy people. I'm not talking about meth heads and heroin addicts, just the folks that have a vice or crutch or whatever, tend to be mellow and non-judgemental towards others. Those are my favorites to hang out with for whatever reason

As someone who is an alcoholic, I find the times are great and the lows suck. My 10 month bender of waking up to grab a bottle to go to the liquor store was my bottom. I hope you all never have to see alcohol withdrawals because they are some kind of bitch

I knew how much I had in my bank account to get pay rent, the bills and all that.

When it was down to $2,000 I got my shite together and knew it was time to get it "together"

Do you know what to expect after a few times (whether it's like melatonin and will make you sleepy or it will calm and relax you)?
Depends on the time of day for me. I don't take it daily. I take St. John's Wort daily.

The reason I use it is to take the evening before I have a flight out in the early morning. I get overly anxious and suffer from insomnia. I subconsciously think I will sleep late, my alarm won't go off, I'll miss my flight, am I prepared? What did I forget? This leads to sleepless nights and negatively impacts my effectiveness in the task I'm flying to achieve. I tried Ambien and Silenor. Both made me extraordinarily groggy when I needed to awaken and my wife said I would talk constantly in my sleep. If I take Valerian, it lets me sleep without the side effects as it removes the anxiety and has a slight tranquilizing effect.

I have used this during the daytime and the SJW works better as the Valerian leaves me less mentally sharp.

Yea, not sure if you were responding to me or just clicked b/c I was last post. When I think of a crutch or whatever I'm talking more about having a couple drinks after work or a smoker who just enjoys some cigarettes during the day. A full blown alcoholic is not good, since it affects your entire life compared to someone who likes a couple beers after work.

Quitting drinking like that is tough, I remember my wife before we got married setting up for me to see a councilor to stop drinking. I knew right then I had a problem and quit for 3 months. Now I limit myself to 1-2 a day. I will say, quitting smoking was a 100 times harder, for me at least. What helped or saved me on drinking is being a fireman, I had to go without for 24 hours every 3rd day so I obviously never became a full blown alcoholic.
