How far does the Placebo Effect go?

We all first learned about the Placebo Effect in grade school but not much further than how believing something works can distort experiments or actually have an effect.. Or maybe someone believes Ibuprofen works better for them than Aleve so that actually happens in reality.
To take it many steps beyond, if you believe that Yogi didn’t eat for 60 years, did his belief that food is not necessary allow him to survive?
The algorithms for my Reels are now feeding me suggestions that our beliefs shape our realities. Maybe to the point if believing in Aliens becomes mainstream, then we will create them into existence.
I’m more interested in the discussion slightly beyond what we learned as kids but will always entertain the more far out stuff.

In the book Range (about generalists vs. specialists), they mention that sham meniscus surgeries, in which a doctor has a patient under and opens the knee but does nothing, had higher recovery rates than actual meniscectomy surgery.

In my medic days, I injected some patients in the field with saline when I didn’t have anything else and they were in extreme pain.
They would manifest pain relief.

I'm about to have a colonoscopy in the morning, and I'll tell you, they better not placebo me before sticking that thing up my azz.

The you probably know that you were injecting an electrolyte, which reduces muscle cramping.

One specific case was a guy with a separated shoulder that was about to have to walk 3 kms to get into an area where we could land a helo to get him out. Muscle cramping was not the concern. I am not talking about an IV anyway, this was me drawing up a syringe and putting it into his delt.
