Is that a thing? I’m just curious. Are there any sites where headhunters could find you? I’m not completely closed off from leaving Louisiana, but my experience and my job is pretty specific to the area. But to be honest, I don’t know what else I could do and get paid a decent wage.

I see “consultant” and other buzzwords around here but I don’t even know what those jobs entail.

Told the wife (no pics) today that we’d probably build a new home in the same area and stay at current job and deal with constant flash flooding and/or storms or leave the area. But we wouldn’t leave the area until I know I could find another job elsewhere. But what? Where? No idea. Especially in my early 40s considering a career change.

All of the job websites out there.

Indeed, LinkedIn, Monster, Glassdoor, etc.

Make sure your LinkedIn is updated and set your profile to “Looking for work”. Found my current job that way. I was getting hit up by recruiters pretty regularly.

I take it you don't have cable TV. It's littered with commercials for these websites.

I always wondered if people got good results from them though. Good luck

We’ve hired our last 3 hires using a company called Loop. I think they have a place you can upload your resume for them to help you.

Good luck

You can post a resume on Indeed and Careerbuilders for sure. I haven't checked out Ziprecruiter but I assume it's similar. You are also able to designate what area and fields you get new job posting alerts from.

You can also sign up and post a resume online with the state run job site.

To avoid the OT wrath, let’s just say “industrial.”

LinkedIn, you post your resume and ser it to searchable and eventually if your in a profession that is wanted you will have head hunters contact you. Friend is a CPA and he uses it switch jobs every 2-4 years for better pay/benefits.

My dad is in a similar field. He probably hasn’t updated his monster resume in years but tells me all the time about the offers he gets. Indeed is good too plus there’s always linkedin

all of those sites are free for job seekers and heavily trafficked by headhunters. They are practically useless for employers though, unfortunately.

Put qualifications you don’t have in white font, when companies search you’ll come up.

Has anyone ever had much luck with a recruiter? Always found they were like used car salesmen.

OP is looking to move to a new area. Good chance he doesn't have a personal network to rely on.
