How does one get a job as a forest fire lookout?

It's useful work, and you sit on top of a mountain and don't see another human for weeks at a time. Sounds like the perfect job.

If I could bring my phone and all the ice water I can handle (and a gun for snakes and spray for hornets), I would take this job for a paycut in a heartbeat.

The towers in the south are only used when there is an actual fire.

I wouldn't mind a job like that, especially since mine is very fast paced and deadline driven
