How does a Coroner determine if a heart attack
Didn’t you ever watch Quincy M.E.?

A friend passed in the early morning hours Thursday. By noon they ruled a massive heart attack. I thought that was a pretty quick autopsy.
Very suspicious. I suspect poison.

I’m not sure how long the troponin will show once they die. That cardiac marker in a person living drops after a cardiac event. My guess is the dead tissue from the heart attack. I’ve seen a heart on a cadaver that was an MI and the heart tissue was bruised all up. I’d assume the coroner cracks the chest open for a definitive answer.

How bad did your heart attack hurt? Care to describe it? One of my fears is randomly croaking out in the kitchen lol.
----------------------------------------------------------
Had one about 3 years ago, felt the pressure on the chest (stronger then expected) and shortness of breath that would not go away. I was unable to finish a conversation due to shortness of breath. If you are ever concerned your having a heart attack, get it checked out right away.

the coroner determines if the heart exploded
Yes = heart attack
No = it was gas
Yes = heart attack
No = it was gas

What do you mean you didn't have classic symptoms? Pressure in your chest with shortness of breath is classic, no?
Follow-up- Any symptoms leading up to the event? How long did you wait before going to hospital, calling 911 etc?

i had absolutely NONE of the typical symptoms.
was sitting at my desk that morning and suddenly just felt like i was going to pass out.
so i told guy in the next office to check on me in lil while. he got up immediately instead and told me i did t look so good.
i walked to a table/desk in a bigger room to lay down so that if i did pass out i wouldn’t fall and split my skull.
just that short walk had me sweating profusely. like soaked my shirt.
the feeling like i was going to pass out was gone, but i was completely exhausted.
i felt about like i would imagine marathon runners feel when done.
whole body was just tired.
my wife was picking me up for lunch that day anyway, so she just came early.
called my Dr to see if he could see me real quick while on lunch. explained what was going on, and he said Flu was going around, but something didn’t sound right and told me to go to hospital instead.
1st round of blood work, Triponin was slightly elevated. Told me it was most likely a panic attack and they’d release me after a 2nd round of blood work to make sure levels were dropping back to normal.
2nd round level were through the roof.
had 100% blockage i. one artery and 80% in another.
i now have 3 stents.
and i still haven’t had any chest pains, shortness of breath, numb arm, etc.

he had the classic symptoms, i didn’t.
even when the Cardiologist told me i was having one and was on way to Cath lab, i didn’t believe him.
i just turned 40 a couple months before, am not even close to being overweight.
I didn’t eat right, and WAS a smoker though.
i got one stent that day. spent almost a week in hospital.
had a follow up about week or so later to discuss and plan a 2nd procedure.
2nd procedure they put two more stents in.
was released back to full duty 14 days later.

Is the cause of death? Does he crack the chest or is there an alternative way to determine that?
they cut you top to tootsies when they're doing an autopsy, dude.

I recommend to everyone a cardiac calcium scan. It can help you possibly prevent a future heart attack.

I know that. I’ve watched tv too. But that wasn’t my question.
