How do you treat the Hyacinth/Stanford Ave. intersection?

I always just bypass the first thick white line. Am I supposed to stop at it if the light is red before I reach it?

This is Stanford heading towards Perkins.

I stop at the first one and then awkwardly creep up to the second one like I'm about to start a drag race.

I drive through it everyday. I completely ignore the 1st white line. Means nothing to me.

I spoke with my friend's buddy who is a cop and he said you don't have to wait for that light-you can treat it like a 4 way stop.

Yeah, he's right man. When you have two white lines like that, you can treat it as a 4 way stop. Don't have to pay any attention to the light.

I try not to get my tires on the white lines. They would look awful scuffed up.

Uh. No. That cop must be the same one that stopped me for a 2 year inspection sticker.

If you're heading north on standard the first white line is so you don't block the intersection for the people trying to turn left off of lake shore. You do not have to stop at the first white line if there is no one in front of you.

The double white lines at lake shore, both sides of hyacinth and the north side of Stanford indicate pedestrian paths.

*edit* there are the same markings if you're heading west bound on Jefferson hwy at Floynell. It's so you don't block the people making a left hand turn off of Jefferson Woods.

*double edit*

If light is red and there's a car at the actual intersection, I'll stop at the first line to see if anyone from Lakeshore needs to cut in. But if no one is there...I'll pull up.
