re: How do you feel about people who commit return fraud?

I had a part-time job years ago at a large sporting goods retailer. Return thieves would find receipts in the parking lot, go find the items in the store, then return them for cash. Sometimes they would choose the wrong item then, when called on it by customer service, would literally run out of the store.

You just gave BabyTac a new strategy.

Chad504 did the same fishing rod return scam at Academy. I remember him bragging about it on the Outdoor Board.
Some people just have a larcenous trait. Doesn’t matter their profession or income.

I have a small side business selling on Amazon, Walmart, and eBay. It ships out 500-600 orders per month and has a return rate of about 15% which is in line with online shopping so I see a fair share of returns to gauge what people try to get away with, and it is actually sickening. I do FBM, so we are able to catch it and charge restocking fees or report it to Amazon, but other sellers who do FBA, where Amazon handles everything, aren't as fortunate.
One chick started a business selling travel bags for baby strollers, and she went out of business within a few months of launching her product because people would return the bags after their vacations, so she was left with used bags people had even written their info on. The real kick in the nuts is that you have to pay Amazon to ship the unusable products back to you or let them liquidate them, in which you literally get pennies on the dollar.
If she had done those bags FBM, she would have been busier, but she could have denied those returns or charged restocking fees but everyone wants the easy money and chooses FBA, so they never touch the products or orders.
Still, people shouldn't be so shitty.

I bought a pocket knife on Amazon about a month ago. When I opened the box the knife was in pieces. I’m guessing somebody had one and broke some parts, or lost some part, so they ordered a new one and took the thumb opener and a few of the screws to keep the handles together.

Years ago there was this guy that burrowed his way into our group of friends... This guy was a complete shyster.. He had an answering machine that I liked and I bought one just like.. He grabbed the box and receipt and put his old answering machine in the box and returned it to the store and complained that this old machine was in the box when he bought it... He walked out of the store with a brand new machine... Years later I see him on NOLA.com for being arrested as a porch pirate...
There was another time we were at a party and there was an older gentlemen that came up to him and said that he had met him before but couldn't remember.. Then the guy remembered that the shyster had stolen some art work from the school art studio.. We all stepped back and were like WTF...

How is that bad policy?
It's part of a greater problem, telling people NO.

Stealing is stealing.

Definitely trash behavior, not surprised BabyTac admits to being trash either.

I actually do know a few wealthy people that do shite like this because they’re so neurotic

Probably about the same as I feel about people who call out TD Posters from 2 yr old threads. Both a little strange... Did you search his history or just happen to remember it?
For clarity sake, BabyTac is a douche... you too are a douche.

I was in Costco one time and a guy walked up to the return counter with a printer and a big jar of pickles. The printer was out of the box and looked about ten years old. He didn’t like the taste of the pickles.

To be fair, Costco will actually let you return anything at any time. They even promote their lax return policy

I ordered something from TikTok shop a few weeks ago and it was delivered to the wrong house, even had picture of someone else’s door. I requested a refund and it was denied
Now I’m out $40 and never received product
