Put everything, location, taxes, accessories, rebates into AI. Tell AI you want a top 10% deal. It will give you a price. When negotiating tell the salesman you are texting your “ numbers guy” / accountant, financial advisor but really put info into AI.

I did this on my recent purchase and it was freaking beautiful.

I did this with a 2017 4Runner and saved something like 6k off of what I could buy the same car for here. I flew to Kalamazo, Michigan and bought it.

I flew up there one day, they picked me up at the airport in it and took me to the dealership. I was there for 30 minutes signing paperwork. I left right after heading south and made it home the next day. For one day of my time I saved 6k. I'll take that all day long.

The simplest way is to go to a website like www.truecar.com
Shop New Cars and put in this cars parameters. It will give you a price range and what the average price paid in your zip code.

I don't know why someone would downvote this. You make sure the salesman know you have looked it up and know the price and will not pay over. And tell them that if they don't sell it at that price you will go to another dealership. You don't have to be rude, just tell them as a matter of fact.

This is the time to get deals on the ‘25 models. I never haggle but just look for deals. Find the type of car you want and pounce.
My last car was a Veloster that Hyundai was knocking off 4k plus the dealer another 2k.

Find a used one with 15,000 miles or less. You get the remainder of the new car warranty. “Best way to deal”

I did something similar to this. I was shopping for new used and searched everywhere south of the mason dixon. Found two places that had what I wanted and one didn’t wanna to mess with me at all. Flew to Tampa, Ubers to the dealership and then signed and headed towards the house.

The OT and their obsession with "good deals" from local dealers. Nobody remembers who the sales manager was at Gerry Lane the last time you bought a car there, nobody cares. You ain't negotiating jack squat, you're only looking for a finance manager that understands what incentives you actually qualify for. Which you should have done before you showed up. And what ordering from Toyota.com and finding an in stock model within 200 miles would have done for you without you having to be in a showroom while they're "copying" your DL. Fools.

I’m surprised they even responded.

Car edge does this and they get very few responses.

I have bought two this year. I got 9k off MSRP on one; 5k off the other. Each took about a month of haggling. The Honda was the hardest to haggle.

Leverage the competition between local dealerships by comparing offers and encouraging them to outdo one another in order to secure the most favorable option.

Go to Autotrader and find the exact make and model and the lowest priced one in the US.

Then find dealerships within the area you are willing to travel and see who can match or beat that price.

I do this and may offer a bit under my area and go from there. I'm not interested in haggling and not interested in visiting the dealer till I have to sign the paper.

Even right about before COVID, all you were really negotiating was decreasing the dealer add on BS for cars above basic level (Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, etc.) After COVID, you weren't paying any less than MSRP anyway, so just order it from the factory and avoid talking to anyone at the dealership trying to fund their vape habit. There were no "deals." If you can't wait two months for a brand new vehicle, you f'ed up in your planning phase. Impatience (we need a new car this weekend/month) means someone is taking extra $ to the Spearmint Rhino after you sign.
