I'm the opposite - more like an OCD minimalist. I bet there's not one "nick-knack" in my entire house. Clutter drives me crazy and everything has a place.

My fiance moved in with me a little over a year ago. She is by no means a slob but she does little things that drive me crazy. I'm extremely neat and clean; she says I'm OCD. My mother was always clean and I guess it rubbed off on me. I always tell my fiance how easy it is to be clean. When you're finished with something, put it back where it goes. When you come home and take your shoes off, put them in the closet; not in the middle of the den or kitchen. When you're done with a dish, rinse it and simply put it in the dishwasher. I've never understood how someone can constantly be dirty. It's just not a difficult concept. Even though I absolutely hate doing it, I won't let her clean the house because she never does it up to my standards. It's such a good feeling to have a spotless, clean house.

Cleanliness is about the only thing we argue about so I can't complain too much.

Trashy, poor people do not have any shame and are lazy, do not mind living in filth.

It’s a mental disorder. Plain and simple. The woman I dated before I met my wife was a complete slob. She took care of herself, but her bedroom and car were complete disasters. I’m talking empty food wrappers just thrown on the floor, dirty laundry where you couldn’t even see the floor. We legit had an argument about 15x by me saying “it takes no effort to bring a cup in the house that you used for coffee on the drive to work”. The way she lived was one of the reasons we broke up as I keep my house clean and truck washed and vacuumed at least once a week while she saw no reason to pickup a food plate off the table when she was done with it.
