The last time I got pulled over the cop told me my car smelled of weed and beer, I haven't smoked weed in the car or drove drunk or while drinking in 10+ years.
He still had me get out while he searched the car under the guise of "probable cause". He also gave me a DUI, without a breath, bkood, urine, or field test.
The DUI was thrown out, obviously, but not until I had to spend 6 hours in the drunk tank, pay a cpl hundred to bond out, and then pay about a cpl grand in court costs/lawyer fees/towing and impound fees.
If the charges are dismissed the court costs should be too or the officer should have to pay the court costs.
It was a black cop who said I was swerving. It was also 6pm on a week night and I had just left the house to run pick up dinner. I was sober as can be, not even medicated.
Initially he marked DUI alcohol on the ticket, then it magically changed to DUI controlled substance (I guess when he was doing the paper work and realized he didn't have a breathalyzer reading he changed it?).
While searching the car, they took a few years of tag receipts and had them strewn all over the car, except for the most recent one that we needed to get the car out of impound, it was stuck down between the passenger seat and the console where you could barely find it. It was the SO's car and she is OCD about keeping her tag registration and insurance cards arranged meticulously in the glove box, but they were strewn from one end of the car to the other when she was looking for the one to get the car out of impound the next day.
Tl;dr frick the Police.

You have marijuana in your car. You are caught speeding by a policeman and he pulls you over. If you have been smoking the marijuana or there is some other reason the policeman has probable cause and if that policeman wants to, he/she can decide to arrest that person.

In 25 years of driving and other felonious activities, the most charges I've had have been 3 DUI, all of which have been thrown out*.
Only one was legit. The other two were bullshite.
I'm white. Clean cut, but have a smart mouth and a problem with "authority" if you want to call the cops around here "authority".
*Knock on wood*

If he was caught with it in a car with he it he would have been charged then.
Likely he bought from an undercover.

While not nearly as bad as driving hammered, anyone who thinks driving skills aren't at least slightly impaired while high is kidding themselves.
The law of averages say that people driving while stoned will get pulled over more likely than people not. Hence getting busted.

Because people are idiots and just leave the weed in a baggie and toss it in their car versus using a jar/something air tight to prevent the smell.
I use a couple of these

Hahaha not at all. Not. At. All. Just extremely lucky. And who would I have ratted on lol it was my prescription that I sold. Gonna rat out my Dr for prescribing me? Lol
I did stop getting and selling my vyvanse after that semester though. Didn't wanna press my luck any further

Why people don't just eat it or toss it into the wind when they see the disco lights is beyond me.
Actually , no it's not. Everyone thinks that they won't get caught with it and will just get a ticket and be on their way.

Well if you're smart and have it sealed why would you need to do that? Zero scent.
There are also plenty of dealers that sell it vacuum sealed as well.
But yeah if you just throw a baggie in the car and let it stink up your whole car to no end, you're probably gonna get busted.

Did you also have your leg hanging out the door?

I got arrested with less than a gram and the cop acted like he had just taken down Escobar.

Like I said, this is how people get busted. Lol
I used to bring midgrade from Auburn, originally from Atlanta, to North AL by the lb and it wasn't vacuum sealed or anything. I would just put it in the heavy duty Ziploc bags.
I had it in the extended cab of my '94 Toyota 4x4 and that shite would be so pungent that I could smell it when I would walk back to my truck after stopping at a service station.
It was called "rat weed". It had hella seeds in it and was very compact, but the buzz was every bit as good as "kind bud". But the appearance and seeds caused it to be called and priced as mid. It was about $100 an oz and could be sold back home in North AL for $100/quarter.
One of my friends called it "butter" because this was back when the "I can't believe it's not butter" commercials were new and when you smoked it you thought "I can't believe it's not nugs". So he affectionately nicknamed it "butter".
Young and dumb.
