But social media has only been around for the past few years. Divorce rates started going up like 50 years ago before social media was even a distant dream. As for your other point, divorce rates also started going up at a time when intermingling between the races was still extremely rare.

Having a long career in financial services has exposed me to so pretty crazy tales. Back when I was in the insurance business, I heard 3 stories that had me rolling. The first story was about a guy, his wife and his best friend's wife. Basically the guy knocks up his best friend's wife with twins. His wife leaves him for the chick he knocked up. Now he is paying child support out of the arse. He said the only thing that makes it sort of okay is that occasionally they will have a threesome with him.
The second story was about a two couples that were best friends. They were secretly having affairs with each other's spouses. It came to light they all got divorced and pretty much exchanged spouses. They are all still best friends and from what I hear the just swing with each other now.
The 3rd one is about the cougar nurse and the black baby. Long story short, cougar married nurse(43) takes a liking to the new, young black doctor. Cougar nurse uses him as a boy toy. Cougar nurse gets pregnant, but thinks its her husband's. Baby comes out tan, but kind of passes because she is half native american. A whole year passes. Husband goes to the hospital where she works randomly to surprise her and sees the doctor and knows immediately. Kid looked just like the doctor.

Man, that's terrible. What do you do after you find out your kid isn't yours? Not the poor kid's fault obviously, but damn.
