I'm not sure what it is people want here. A perfectly unbiased fact-checking organization is an impossibility. The best we can do is compare multiple fact-checkers and make up our own damn minds when they disagree.

Snopes loses credibility by being extremely intellectually dishonest. They like to twist statements or subjects to things no one is actually discussing to make things false.

I just know I used to get tons of stupid email chains and saw a bunch on facebook that were total bullshite things and I could always go to snopes and find the story and the back up of it being garbage.

I will never be too harsh on Snopes because teaching my parents and grandparents to check Snopes before forwarding me that email about how Obama's grandfather was a guard at Auschwitz is priceless.

They had the founder on NPR the other day and I've been saying the name wrong in my head for years. Always thought it was pronounced like 'Snoop's new album'. Almost as earth shattering as gif/jif.
