Nazis were yesterday's news by 1947. That's the year of the creation of the National Security state and the beginning of the containment policy. Commie bastards were in Turkey, Greece, Iran, China, and Korea. Western Germany was of central importance to the defense of Western Civilization.
They became our allies because we needed them and they needed us.
Nazis were like a strong, mad dog that had to be put down quickly, but Communism was the ultimate evil of the 20th century. Put Nazis to shame with the number of innocent civilians murdered.

Well I could say the US turned their country into an economic power via the Marshall plan.

The Morgenthau Plan was to repastoralize Germany, effectively making an agricultural place with little to no industry. That is also the original Soviet plan for East Germany. The Cold War changed all that.

Surprising knowing how far away German people had settled, I expect it in neighboring countries, but not in Romania.

A lot of Eastern Europe was part of the Austrian and Austro-Hungarian Empire, which was obviously filled with ethnic Germans. Romania's borders have changed many times since 1900.

No worry, the next generations are over compensating for sins of the past, thus the wanted influx of Muslims into Germany. Sounds familiar.....

Which is completely ruining Germany. It’s crazy but pretty cool at the same time that WWII still has effects today

Your first statement, which is true, makes it not really that "cool". It's a damn shame really. It's not only Germany but they are taking much of the rest of Western Europe down with them.

Ultimately what they are doing now is going to be more damaging to their future than both World Wars they lost combined.

The muslim infidel are a scourge on Western society; which IS the superior society of the world.

Berlin got better than it deserved at the end of WWII. If every a city deserved to have have a mountain of skulls piled in the city square Genghis Khan style, it was them.

I spent a few years in West Germany back in the 80s. From my interaction with both Civilians and Military, they tended to prefer to act as though the war never happened. Most of the ones I interacted with were my age (late teens to early 20s) is it was their grand parents who’d lived through the war.

theres a world of difference between a NAZI and the rest of the German People......It was not a 100% kool-aid drinking nation....but the struggle before, during and after the war was real

The Nazi Party was a political party. The majority of the German people voted them into power.

Look at the early 20's forward and you'll be amazed how quickly the numbers and support grew over those few short years.

That’s not actually correct. In the last free election in 1933 before Hitler took absolute dictatorial control, the Nazi Party garnered a little over 40% of the vote. This was the largest percentage of any party, but still not a majority of the people.

Germany isn't a strict two-party system, correct? You cut the dead weight votes from 3 or 4 of some of these parties, and they could have easily gained the majority.

The last democratic election held in Germany, the one in March of 1933 saw the Nazi Party get just over 40% of the total vote. Next came the Socialists (leftist) & Communists who split just over 30% of the vote. The other roughly 20-25% was split between a mix of conservative parties and minor regional parties.

You also have to factor in the utter failure of the Weimar Republic to do anything for anyone but a few elite, effete Leftists. Meanwhile, this guy comes in and says he can grow the economy, bring the military back, and restore geopolitical power to Germany. He follows through on those things. Your children are eating well and living much better than they were a few years ago and you have some scratch in your pocket. Your dignity is restored and you and your neighbors once again have confidence in the community and the nation.
He can't really be serious about all that Jewish stuff, right? He's not serious about retaking any lands in Eastern Europe that have ethnic Germans... can't be.
I mean... eh oh. Too late now, we're all in, i guess.

Not right away. A lot of Nazis didn't give up the fight right away after the end of the war.
