Perhaps it would help if you understood what 90% means. It means that 90% of the area is expect to receive rain. I think that most of BR experienced some rain. The WBRZ forecast on Friday was:
WBRZ
I'd say that the forecast was both informative and accurate.
quote:\
Today and Tonight: Showers and thunderstorms will push through the area on Friday—especially during the first half of the day. There is an outside shot that one or two thunderstorms could be strong, but overall, ingredients for severe weather are minimal. Despite clouds and rain, highs should still be able to climb into the mid 70s. Mostly cloudy skies will persist overnight with spotty showers and lows in the mid 60s. Up Next: Saturday brings a tricky forecast. Many forecast models suggest similarly to Friday that widespread showers and thunderstorms will develop. However, there does not seem to be any organized mechanism out there to cause such action. There will be a dissipated cold front in the region, so with some daytime warmth, scattered showers may breakout into the afternoon hours. Sunday seems to bring a better chance of rain and storms as the next cold front dives into the area. This one will be supported by a few more ingredients for severe storms, so we will need to keep an eye on that. A third front will finally kick through the region late Monday, effectively ending the unsettled stretch. Weekend highs will be in the 80s with lows in the 60s. By the middle of next week, temperatures will be closer to average.

How can the weatherman be so wrong. They gave 90% rain all weekend and not one single drop they fricking suck.
They did just about the same thing last weekend.

It’s science and science is never wrong

You need to follow the weather on an app. It changes all the time. A guy may say one thing in the morning about rain on the weekend but it will change by the evening. If you are still getting your weather/news from local TV then you are way behind the times.

Their jobs are numbered. Weather is real time on phones and have radar.
TV Weathermen and radio DJs will not be around in 10 years. Book it.

They will probably end up at the CDC guessing what flu strain to include for the vaccine.

No one on the OT has this problem. Lots of meteorologists here. They read their own radar and track their own hurricanes. And they're never wrong.

From Friday thru today, I had about 2" of rain in lower Pointe Coupee. And yes, it rained every day.

Or you're confusing 90% with 100%?

I got rain, but not nearly as much as I thought.
It sort of fricked up my weekend because both days I didn't do what I planned because of the weather. While it rained a little bit today and have heard clashes of thunder now and then, it wasn't really stormed like the current weather keeps saying it is about to do. Since about 10AM it has been showing that there will be thunderstorms in my area.

How’s your NCAA bracket going? I bet you suck at predicting the future too.

Weatherman is usually pretty accurate.

Percentage (or likelihood) of precipitation does not infer quantitative amounts. A county warning area may have a 70 % chance for rainfall but that does not mean every single point in that area will receive rainfall nor does it play a higher amount of rainfall than say a 40 % chance.
Training of a band of thunderstorms may produce 2" of rainfall over one county in the forecast area where there may have only been 30 % coverage. Hence, a 30 % of rain would verify but 70 % of the area got nothing.
Also, During south la summer months, a typical 50 % chance of afternoon storms may occur at your home Every other day assuming similar atmospheric conditions.
50 percent would be scattered storms .
60/70 % likely
100 % (rarely used) widespread showers with storms used for tropical cyclones.

It rained both Saturday and Sunday.
Sounds like you don’t understand what 90% actually means.

I'll never understand why people think meteorologists are forecasting for their back yard.

This is a very simple-minded way to think about it.
