sounds like fun for a while. Find some moderation and you can surf that wave to 41 maybe.

Ironically, that is about the age that I lost everything due to these issues.

Or a cause. You guys always look at addiction backwards. That's it's the symptom of your oh so complex Diagnosis. When in reality, the addiction and abuse is the cause. But that would hurt your bottom line.

Don't trigger me with the word narcissist
But, I do agree, Sea. Disclose. I have zero BPD experience but I do have alcoholism heartbreak. I can't say I would have chosen to have given up early but knowing would have been incredibly helpful early armor.

Thanks, Lester. I can use all the help I can get, man.
It's all good. It was a blessing in disguise.

I told him when we met. He has a right to know what he's getting himself into

The one person I know personally that has borderline personality disorder has never been, and will never be, formally diagnosed. But she has it, no doubt. She is a complete goddamn fricking disgusting count piece of shite. She has completely mind-fricked at least one psychiatrist. No shrink in the world could stand a chance against her. She could manipulate Jesus any way she wanted. Everywhere she goes, she leaves a trail of infatuations/obsessions turned into explosions/burned bridges. She is always the "victim". There is no way she will ever be helped. Never. No fricking chance.
Since I know we can make a 100% accurate conclusion from this thread alone, I think there are a few possibilities here, Paige:
(1) You have borderline personality traits, not the full blown disorder, and are getting help and making progress. Awesome, good for you. Keep doing what you're doing.
(2) You actually have BPD and are getting help and making progress. Awesome, good for you. Keep doing what you're doing.
(3) You actually have BPD, are conniving as all frick, and have mind-fricked some people here. In that case I dont know.

I'll light a candle for you as well. If you renounce drug abuse right now. Before law, me, and Jesus.
What happened to Paige? Probably having a drink and looking in the mirror. She forgot about everything but her.

And +1 green then.
Do not discount him calling you Baby today if he is fully vested...
ETA: yeah, you were diagnosed today, yes? Or are you referring to just Bipolar

With some BPDs, you can love and support and understand, yet it's still not enough. They'll continue the self destructive behavior of breaking down the good relationships and pursuing only bad ones.

Should she hide or disclose this diagnosis, regardless of the fate?
Anyone?
I just popped in here and read a little bit. But, IMO, I would disclose it to him. I don't know how long they been together or how serious it is but if this is going to last or get traction, I would bet it would be better to know on the front end instead of down the road. I've dealt with this type of issue in a girl in my last SO. Everything went well at first then... Armageddon. If I would have had a clue at the beginning then maybe I could have been more of an impact for her, maybe help her some because I did/do care for the bitch. But, by the time the devil showed up, it rapidly escalated and there was too much momentum to do anything. I'm still recovering from the damage she caused but it's all good.
I don't know Paige other than a brief back and forth and coming across some posts here and there so I can't offer anything other than that BPD is no joke. I've seen it in action and it can be scary so if she take it seriously and wants to become better, I think she'll be just fine.
Oh, and Happy Birthday woman

What about God? What do you think got you out of your mess?

I am spiritual but not religious. I got the message that I was an arrogant prick who did not understand the difference between a right and a privilege that society had entrusted me with to be a dentist. I did not take that seriously and I was only interested in a six figure income without being invested in the fact that good people were paying me good money to take care of their mouth. I was more interested in my next vacation than the fact that good people were entrusting me to take care of their family's oral health care. I know that sounds stupid but it forced me to examine my motives and reason for being a dentist in the first place. And those motives weren't altogether pure. It made me a better person when I owned the fact that I had become a dentist more for selfish motives than for the best interests of the people who came to me for help with their dental issues. I was in it for me and not for the people that I was supposed to be serving. Lesson being, do what you are passionate about and that serves others above and beyond your own selfish desires.

How do you reconcile that with saying "Jesus can suck a dick"? You are talking about pure motives. What bad motives did Jesus have?
