It really amazes me that people would willingly vote to give up more of their money to the government to be wasted

This is a great way to look at it. Nobody raises rent $3/month, usually it’s a nice rounded number... You can be certain, a lot of leases are going up $25/month next year. So, as much as I hate to see the approval of another new tax, it seems like the end result is everyone is a winner.

I voted against both taxes but the will of the people disagreed with me. I'm willing to accept that. If I disagree too much I can always move.

While we're at it, what else can we give $30 a year to give for the good of the community?
Free houses? Free Ubers? More welfare?
Assuming even we trust the city to do this right...
