Could pay it off, but the interest rate of 3.6% is nice compared to now.
We got 3.9% from Honda for 60 months on the wife's vehicle in late 2023. It was a Honda specific promo though.

quote:Yea, I was looking at the numbers and you have to have a credit score of >780 to even sniff less than 6%.
Getting below 6% is lucky now.
Thankfully, that isn’t an issue, but, damn.

Yep. Going to have to buy the fourth family car in a couple more years when my youngest hits 16.
My first one turns 16 in 2 months. We will have to figure out how we are going to handle it. Give her the wife's car or buy her a used car. We shall see.

A financially responsible doctor? Wow.
Doctors are the cheapest SOB's on the planet. Not surprising that a house with two doctors won't take a note higher than $500.
We are doing a roof for a doctor right now. One of the biggest houses you'll ever see. Guy has a $60,000!!!! deductible on his house... and he doesn't want to pay a single penny of it. Like this is our responsibility/we're the ones who signed up for a cheap note but extremely expensive deductible. "I want you to do all this incredibly difficult work, but I don't want to be responsible for anything and commit insurance fraud and don't care if you make money on the job because I'm rich." We will scrap a good bit of copper on the job and he wants half of it, even though obviously he's not the one removing it, loading it up, and hauling it off. Wants his house painted and "it shouldn't cost that much since it's a brick house." We measured up something like 4,000 sq ft of just fascia and soffit
Indian doctors are even worse. They will shop around 10 different quotes for a patio extension and not care which one is best if it can save them $100. But they do typically at least drive nice cars.

We just redid our roof and Scruffy paid cash for that.

I will completely agree about physicians and vehicles. Usually, doctor’s parking lots are filled with overpriced vehicles.
Maserati, Lexus, BMW, Porsche, Mercedes, all common.

I have 3 paid off vehicles and a 270 dollar note on a Civic. Two teens driving. My one note plus insurance is a house note. Freaking sucks. I could have a home and a vacation home. No way I could add on a new truck/tahoe note.
Oh, and I 2nd the minivan. Had a Tahoe and the van is a dream for a family. Yup, swallowed the pride, im not that cool anyway. Lol.

Jesus. For what it’s worth I want to kick your type over going 50 mph when y’all hang too far in the road.

I think it is funny when people can't tell they are being worked, even when it is in an obvious ham-fisted manner.
The point was to hold a mirror up to your judgment and you couldn't help but come back and defend your version of outdoorsyness and use judgment as recrimination.
The fact you enjoy camper camping is great but to try to use it as some symbol of being a significantly outdoorsy person and as some judgment against others is weak sauce.
I don't recall defining a certain "level of outdoorsy." I simply stated that I had upgraded to the truck I have so that I could be outdoors more. Which is true. Everything else was pure conjecture and judgement on your part. There is a wide range of enjoying the outdoors. I have no desire to go climb a mountain in Antarctica wearing nothing but my buffalo briefs. You do. That's cool. I'm glad you enjoy that. I don't judge what you do. I simply don't like being chastised for the way I live my life and the means by which I do so. Especially when it has literally nothing to do with the quality of your own life. As they say, it costs $0 to stay in your own lane.

Efficient. Finished the job and post-inspection in under 48 hours.

I was just using your post as way to talk about used-truck values, as another reason people are likely buying them.
None if this stuff really triggers me, people are welcome to have different opinions as long as they realize me is the correct one.
(That was a joke)
