Gun buy backs are the government giving you back your money to disarm you.
Nobody is selling them anything worth a crap. It’s mostly old guns that no longer work and govt can pretend they did something.
Nobody is selling a fully functional AR15 for 150 bucks

Congrats on your freedom. It’s a shame we’ll have to watch Griner be an insufferable count while you get to make arms deals again :(

The operative term for the statute is "being in the business of manufacturing or selling firearms..." and the legal test for "being in the business of" is if you make a profit or regularly perform the act for any benefit.
You can buy and sell guns with the intent of enhancing your collection without being in the business of but when you start pocketing cash that is a different story and all of that is for buying and selling. For manufacturing, it can be as few as one firearm if you made it just to sell it.
Long story short, and I get what you are saying, but they could jack this dude up if they so chose to do so and he would have a shot at being convicted. People are pretty nochalant about these firearms statutes when they shouldn't be. Stick to yourself and buying your own firearms and you are OK but when you start making and selling you can get in the trick bag quickly.

One major wrinkle would be if these are really firearms under federal law. Maybe, but I'm not sure.

Are the 3D printed guns basically toys or do they actually function?

What the hell is the point of buying back guns?
They gonna buy back pencils in neighborhoods where kids make bad grades?

Your tax dollars at work on plastic toy guns.

I hope they took that money and went out and bought a few guns.

Most gun buyback clientele trade in a few garbage guns that don’t function so they can buy one that shoots.

Great start to a standup routine. Sometimes it takes comedy and a ridiculous take to wake up this zombified nation to realize what's going on.
Also reminds me of George Carlin and education. "First we had the Head Start Program. Now it's No Child Left Behind, No Child Left Behind, Head Start Left Behind, someone's losing fricking ground. Before long the only thing you'll need to get into college is a fricking pencil. This is physics, here's a fricking pencil get you're arse in there"

Yep.
I love a good troll, but nobody is giving up a known murder weapon or a valuable gun here. If anything you run a small chance of an irresponsible gun owner losing their weapon which doesn't really bother me.
