Easy drive to work this morning but I may be the only one that shows up. Don't see much precip falling inside the loop right now. Anyone seeing reports of ice yet?

if it's possible for you to work remotely (at home) i would. All the major news networks are advising it. This cold blast got here much earlier than expected.
i work in the Woodlands and live in Spring. We were told don't even try to brave it.

North side, Conroe and The Woodlands are getting it, nothing around downtown, Pearland, and anything to the east so far but it’s coming

Subtle brag about driving a car.

In loop, no issues earlier. People will try to find any excuse not to go in and do their jobs, eh?

I live in the woodlands and there’s some accumulating on the ground (mainly sleet now). I’ve told my office to stay home.

I just landed at Bush no problem

It just got below freezing at bush but will get in the 20s and freeze everything on the ground. Could be a fun drive home for some folks.

Just got to work in the Med Center. All good on 59 from Sugar Land. Just hoping the temp gets back above freezing an hour or so before its time to head home.

Cold and on/off rain in Pearland. I work next to Memorial City and they closed offices for today but I'm sure my boss will be in and wondering where we all are.

I'm much more concerned about the drive home. The Galleria to Magnolia in this weather is simply not worth it for me.

What will the drive be like tomorrow am and during the day?
Posted on 1/16/18 at 8:24 am to ABucks11
Still no ice. I have a 10 min commute downtown from Washington. Lot of water on road so could be an issue later.

Cold as a Mo Fo here in iraan.
Wind is shooting up the canyon right on location.
Deer are moving though

Enjoy spending the night at your office.

They closed the office for me today in the Woodlands. Will be interesting to see if it’s closed tomorrow as well. Lots of water on the ground and it’s only going to get colder from here.

If we get below freezing temps while the precip is falling (which is likely going to happen), virtually all of it is either icing over or sticking. Temps are also not supposed to get very much above 32 tomorrow. In short, IMO it would be a disaster - far worse driving conditions than today. I think most businesses that closed today will have no choice but to close tomorrow as well.
