If I remember correctly, it was several years ago, and the Krewe of Hycinthians and Hercules had to be rescheduled for Sunday to follow them. The Krewe of Hycinthians had a rental agreement to rent some of Hercules’s floats and Hercules needed to back out of that agreement because now they needed the floats.

So to spite them she delayed the parade.

I've heard about this. President of Hercules runs details for me. He's brought up bits and pieces

Had a member of the Selucrey Sophisticats try to park a truck by my shop yesterday, fricked up like a soup sandwich.

I miss the times when there were only three parades. 2 Sundays and Fat Tuesday.

Selucrey is a walking group that was started by a group of Hercules riders who wanted to keep the Mardi Gras excitement through out the Mardi Gras season. Selucrey is Hercules spelled backwards with the Y replacing the H. (Those lines are embedded in my brain after hearing them at least ten times a year for ten years.)

They walk around an Old Ghostbusters car with loud music dressed in what some on the OT would consider New Iberia trashy, airbrushed tuxedo jackets.

Fun fact, the ghostbuster car gets so hot that they slightly prop open the hood to keep the engine from overheating.

That's all true. Most of those guys are straight trash. I know quite a few of those guys are on disability but can walk a 4 mile parade.

Part of the problem this year was that it was the 35th year so they had a bunch of past Kings riding on cars. And at one point we were stopped for 30-45 minutes. Not sure what happened. I got home after 1am and rode in the front half of the parade.

Y'all are bitching about the length of the Houma parade, and I was there.

it was late and there was a lengthy delay at the reviewing stand, but the bigger issue is the way the Krewe throws. The beads in the plastic bags become hard projectiles, and they can come flying in from anywhere at fastball speed. My friend got hit on the head and I'm pretty sure kids do too.

Houma parades are notorious for that. Take the beads out the bags assholes. People also flirt with alochol poisoning almost guarenteed. Maybe some will say - “well thats all parade riders”. Add this with all the other things people mentioned and you get the total sum of shitty parades.

The parades do take entirely too long. I quit going to Houma parades years ago and avoid Houma during Mardi Gras entirely.

I rode Hercules. I seen a guy I rode with break a window, I've also seen a guy get knocked out from being hit with a pack of beads.
