As a gun owner I don’t have an issue with this. I don’t have a problem carrying guns into a city, but there’s 0 reason to have them exposed even in your hotel room. Clean them, work on them, etc and then put them away. Absolutely shouldn’t be a round chambered unless it’s a conceal carry on you. Especially with kids around.
Guy was an idiot and I’m glad the maid did something. This may be a nothingburger but no problem with a maid calling the police on suspicious activity.

So you think her motivation was that she wanted to keep the guy in jail because he was white and had less to do with political grandstanding and distracting from the abominations occurring on the south side of her city?

The story would have been framed much differently if the dude weren't white.
SHe has a recently documented history of overt racism which overshadows any idea that she's thinking rationally here.

I’m confused. This man committed a crime, he was reported to authorities. They arrest him and process him and release him on bail? What’s wrong with that?
All the grandstanding aside this seems like exactly what the legal process is supposed to do.
I do think it seems irresponsible to leave a loaded gun on a table or window sill in a hotel. But that’s not even really the point.

I bet the guy used the scope to get a better view of some cleveage.... of course rounds were in the room and the maid used this to bail out of work for the day because she had anxiety....
