that's where BLM fools fricked up. there are genuine grievances with the policing of our communities, and abuse of power, that most people could come together on, but when you make it about race, and us against them, one side will naturally get defensive.
I agree but I think BLM was never really about police injustice and was really just a way to drive black voters to the polls for the presidential election. You sure don't hear about them in the news much anymore now that the election is over.

Usually I side with LEO's decisions, because they're correct more often than not. This guy, however, is a giant piece of shite and needs to be fired. Also, this girl should rightly sue the department. Good for the nurse to sticking to policy. If the patient was indeed suspected of being intoxicated, a warrant should not have been too difficult to obtain.

Frick these po-pos, I would like to see them get arrested and slapped around in front of their peers. I hope they hang him by his nuts. Nothing I hate more than an abuse of power.

was hit by a drunk driver and when they took her to the hospital (she fought them) the officer told me they can collect a blood sample without her consent once she's admitted.

If blood from this patient was so very important why did the police not return to the hospital and ask another nurse to draw the blood? They really just wanted to jerk this poor nurse around. Why did they not get a digital warrant? She might have lost her job if she violated hospital policy. I hope she takes them to court!

They didn't return with a warrant bc they couldn't obtain one. The important piece is that the man they wanted to obtain blood from was a victim and was in the hospital bc he was hit by a suspect fleeing from the police in a high speed chase.
The victim is also a reserved police office in another county and was driving semis as a side job.
Police chase suspect at high speeds. Suspect swerves into victim, causes major explosion (dies on scene). Victim transferred to hospital with severe burns where he's unconscious and medicated for pain.
Knowing the entire store makes things much more clear.

Wouldn't the unconscious person having been involved in a collision that left another dead be cause? I would hope so, since it could be many hours before the patient is conscious and if there is a drug or alcohol level in his system, it would be much diminished after many hours. Something is wrong here.
The unconscious victim did not cause the accident, the police chase caused the suspect to (fatally for him) crash into the patient. The police are trying to cover themselves. And no, as a former ER RN, I can tell you that the pt must either be under arrest or there must be a warrant. Cop was a power hungry a-hole who over reacted because her professional response embarrassed him.

Several people in this thread are singling out the cop in the video, but ignoring the entire story. He was either ordered to assist in the cover up, or the culture of corruption and cover up is so prevalent in that department that he thought he could get away with it.

All they had to do was call the lab and ask them to add on a BAC to the blood they already had
I don't think it's admissible in court if obtained that way. You have to use everything provided in the kit supplied by the officer.

And the sad thing is that this cop will be allowed to stay on the force even if it's just a desk job.
We will never see real criminal justice reform until we fix the problem of bad cops being impossible to fire and that includes getting rid of qualified immunity and the police bill of rights.

It's a 42:1983 violation. You lose your "qualified immunity" when you violate someone's civil rights. At that point officer Dumbass becomes personally liable.
I wish he were personally liable. What will happen is she'll sue, as she should, and get a big check which is paid by the taxpayers while this piece of crap cop and his piece of crap lieutenant get a stern talking too and nothing else.
Until they start making cops carry insurance to pay for misconduct claims or threaten to take their pension if they are found guilty of misconduct this crap will keep on happening.
