When the hospitals actually get overrun then we will deal with that REAL message.
So we should wait until the hospitals are overrun before preparing for the contingency?

It will get worse, but that has nothing to do with testing. It is because the peak virus spread will be last weekend when we finally took the social distancing seriously. Therefore, caseload will peak this coming weekend (average 5 day incubation) and continue until the end of March. At that point, the number of new cases requiring hospital beds should level off and even decrease some. The total number of hospital beds required will continue to increase, because the worst cases will take up a bed for many weeks. I’d guess mid-April to hit the hospitalization peak.
All this is for the NOLA area only. The rest of the country might be a few days ahead of us, because a lot of places self-quarantined earlier than we did.
Actually I think you are off a bit. Social distancing just really taking hold mid week here. Most people on FB were still doing things in small groups, most businesses were rushing to figure out how to work from home. People were still in stores last weekend prepping -- here in BR. For us, testing just really ramped up. I full expect first week of April to be insane in EBR, and it will finally start to level off mid to end of April. By second week of April I think ER's and hospitals in BR will be in full panic mode. But what do I know? I am not a medical professional. By the way, the time from "catching it" to symptoms vary by individual and their immune system. Low ball 14 days. Some as long as 28. We are in for a wild ride.
