Went down that way for the first time in a long time. He had clothes hanging in the tree. He's been there a while looks like.

Actually he could be since a car is not a home.

Nevermind I should have read the entire thread. Whats the story on those houses? Seems like they were pretty decent places at one time.

Your link is the other end of airline by old hammond. Albertsons in question is airline and highland intersection.

On the side road by the taco bell and leading to the back of the albertsons, their are some houses that have been abandoned and the trees and vegetation has grown for years there. If you see them up close youll see why it woukd be a prime spot for homeless people to live.

Im thinking its the one by old hammond/airline. OP will have to confirm.

But I work right by there and have see the wheelchair guy in his car for awhile now. I've been wondering the same thing.

They have a row of cars for sale right by the road, on airline, and this guy looks like he's living out of one.

Correct. It is the taco bell / Albertsons on Airline and old Hammond area. Dude is close to the taco bell drive thru side. Car kinda parked underneath a tree.

If I was going to be a homeless panhandler, I would move to San Diego near the beach. South Louisiana would be near the bottom of the list.

I know they used to have an issue with homeless people living inside that abandoned building on airline hwy that now belongs to the Church of Scientology.

Right next door to the old Whitney Bank building by Airline and I-12.

Its a white/cream colored brick building.

The property was vacant for awhile, but the Church of Scientology bought it.

He didn't have enough $ for auditing to cross the bridge and he was physically unable to join the sea org so they sent him packing eh?

Homeless people typically don't exhibit the best decision making skills.

Yeah I see him laying under the trees all the time in the Walmart/Ihop parking lot. One day I'm gonna buy that man a fifth and lay it next to him in the grass while he sleeps. His reaction when he wakes up would be priceless

Maybe. The knife he sticks in your ribs, the ambulance ride, and the hospital stay will cost a bundle. Great story for you to tell though.
