There's one out there offering a BJ for a cinnamon bun and a
Budweiser. I'm just going to leave it at that.

The barter system has its merits.

That’s the calling card of a Hundred Thousandaire. Insecure, arrogance, argumentative.

Moving forward I’ll read all his posts as though a huge gaping vag is reciting them.

yep, and i know this isn't reagan's fault alone but i don't get the cult like fanbase reagan has. he was a disaster for the conservative movement.

Preach!

He was disaster in general and the true puppet on the string but because folks thought he looked "grandfatherly" on TV they still love him today. Why can we not get another Ike? That is the Republican Party of my younger days. Moderate and got things done.

My job is to help where I can. What I do for them is between me and God. What they do with it is between them and God. I don’t know everyones circumstance and can’t stand to see downtrotten people. Family of 4 freezing and no coats or place to stay. It was going below freezing that night. They had 2 kids under 5. I got them a room. Old lady with flip flops on and no coat and it’s 37 outside. I got her a coat and food. Idk what answer is but I try to help if I can. God knows your heart/

Just because Louisiana has a democrat Governor, it doesn`t mean we have a majority of democrats here and we surely do not.

Our state government is predominantly Republican.

I am old and we did not have this much homeless under LBJ or Nixon

It was Regan, read the LINK

In 1981 President Ronald Reagan, who had made major efforts during his Governorship to reduce funding and enlistment for California mental institutions, pushed a political effort through the U.S. Congress to repeal most of MHSA. The MHSA was considered landmark legislation in mental health care policy.

You are correct about the drugs but the drugs are these folks "self medicating" with booze and drugs to replace the medical drugs when they were getting treatment from a facility. Take a look at Pat Dyes daughter and others who proved the "self medicating" route does not work
A significant portion are straight drug addicts who are not particularly self-medicating. They've burned their bridges with their social supports and have nowhere else to go.

Yet some in here wanna open up the wallet to them. frickin’ idiots that have never spent a hard day on the street in their life. They think giving them money buys a cheeseburger, but that offering is entirely altruistic at its core. It hurts them tremendously. Plenty of one arm folks on the street… they didn’t lose that arm to a dog bite..

i love winters here because this is a homeless hub basically and the population of vagrants shifts with the weather. it snowed today but has been warmer lately so theyre popping up again. theyll catch busses from all over to take advantage of programs here in CO tailored for the chosen lifestyle they have.

No one put a gun to these people's heads and made them become worthless junkies who reject all the help they are given. Actions have consequences.

The only real solution is to give them all fentanyl and let them do what they want to do: die in drug induced euphoria.

Boy I hope when some y’all meet your maker, he has a forgiven heart. Some of you are gonna need all of Gods grace. Any person in USA can become homeless in a bat of an eye. Some chose it and some it chooses them. Get off your high horse.

A lot of the homeless use a shelter for an address to apply for and receive government handouts and get food when they need it.

They use the money to buy drugs.

They commit crimes and beg for money to supplement their income.

They don`t want to stay in a shelter because they have rules, such as a curfew.

I know the OT ballers are different, but your average joe in 2023 is a couple of missed paychecks from being out on his arse. It's not always drugs, mental illness, or general degeneracy.
