Does anyone have any recommendations on different programs? Experiences?

I’m looking for Something non-religious . Wife and I recently looked at the Ron Paul program, and the curriculum looks strong, but some of the video instructors are monotone.

While this was true at one point in time it is no longer the case.

These days home schooling is about protecting your children from leftist indoctrination. The public schools (and even private ones) are teaching white children to hate themselves. In some circumstances encouraging self harm. I even heard of one nut job teacher telling the white kids in her class the world is better off if they didn't exist.

Encouraging suicide now?

Home schooling is no longer about religious nuts. I know several families on my street that now home school and they are normal. They also do team sports and stuff so it isn't about isolation your kids from life anymore.

It is now about saving their lives.

Well, it didn't take long to get to this tired old tripe. Usually it's like the 5th post.

Let me head off all the stereotypes that will thrown around in this thread. This is my wife and kids and we are just like you. As you can see, like you we wear denim. Like your kids, mine watch movies. Provided they are Disney and produced before 1983. My high school educated wife teaches them good. Just like your kids, they learn science. Provided it comes directly from the Genesis account. We even let them go outside and play, provided they sign a declaration that the earth is 6000 years old and they promise not to get within 10 yards of one of the worldly neighborhood kids. Me and my wife even have sex just like you and your wives. Provided we are trying to expand our ever growing family. and leave the lights on. Wear shirts. And do missionary. So as you can see, we are not that different from your family, save the lack of vaccinations.

I can't really speak to non-religious programs but I know they are out there. We are in Classical Conversations. It is academic and rigorous but it is religious. Our experience has been great. If your wife isn't an idiot she can handle it. Be intentional about getting your kids involved in some social activities in your community and as long as you and your wife are not weird your kids will be able to move through society with no social issues. They will actually be better at carrying conversations with adults than their home school counterparts.
