It's their truck. Used on star to track it. I think it's pretty much all figured out they are just tying up loose ends. I hope.

This is very sad as this was nice and well liked and well known BTR family.

Son couldn't get in touch and called police. He lives in Monroe.

Their forbear, Armand Duplantier, had Magnolia Mound. And lots of land.

Yeah, it's my understanding that the call came for the welfare check around 10:15pm last night, and that's when units were dispatched to the residence.

OnStar was used to locate the vehicle.

Probably happened earlier in the day. Call to check the house didn't come till 10:15

I'm probably creating a bit of a stretch here, but let us not forget the mysterious two-story house explosion in BR last night as well. It's in the 2400 blcok of N Stevendale Rd (which is very close to I-12). There were at least two explosions with ammunition going off all around. Could this be related some kind of way? Is it possible this was a way of destroying any evidence?
Again, I know I'm probably creating a stretch here but it appears that nobody knows how this two-story home exploded - twice. Also the fact that there were so many bullets being fired off from the fire suggests the home was full of ammunition.

Does anyone know any details of this case?

considering the reports of the bodies started coming out before the connection to a home invasion was made it simply sounded like they found 2 bodies in a truck at a truck stop. i initially thought they found 2 bodies in a semi too. why is that so far fetched fop you?

The bodies were found in a pickup truck they owned. The criminal killed them, put the bodies in their truck, and drove the truck to this truck stop in Hammond.

Was there a getaway driver in Hammond? Did the criminal(s) have a car already parked there? Who knows, but my guess is they chose this particular spot because it's so close to I-55. Could be halfway across the country by now.

100-1 odds that it was someone close to the family with a drug problem.

Yea that's my guess too. I immediately went to drug head family member or current/ex employee.

That's just sick, I mean to kill them is sick obviously but to drive with them in the truck. I hope the cops beat the hell out of these sick people.

Anything is possible. We just have to wait for the guys to gather all the information and evidence and figure it out. It'll take time.

I'm sure the home wasn't "full of ammunition" but a suspicious fire in a certain part of the home could've set it off. We also don't know if the residences are owned by the same persons.

Correct, but I was insinuating that perhaps the home that exploded is where the killer(s) lived. Maybe they undressed there and left the clothes they were wearing at the time there then blew it up before leaving town. It happened right before midnight. As others are suggesting, these assholes could be halfway across the country by now.

I'm sure it's a coincidence but it just seems to be a big coincidence. What home blows up TWICE? Neighbors reported hearing two "booms" and lost of bullets firing off all around. Seems to me if it was an accidental gas explosion, that would have happened all at once. Two explosions seem to indicate two sources of explosives. Perhaps a timed or remotely-detonated thing?

True, you have a point there. I'm curious as to who owns the property.

But why go through all that trouble and not destroy the vehicle that you presumably transported them in? There's got to be evidence all over it, unless the perpetrator(s) are smarter than we think.

I am assuming they are of the same family. That would make them one of the oldest families in Baton Rouge.

If the boys in blue have no way of tying unknown DNA back to a specific house, their job of finding out who to compare the DNA to gets much tougher. It's possible the killer(s) didn't actually own that house. Maybe they were staying there temporarily. Maybe they were friends with the owner. Maybe they knew the house was empty at the time and would make for a great place to undress and prepare for a getaway. Their DNA could be all over that truck but without a comparison, investigators have nothing to go off of.

Ensuring the home is full of ammunition before the explosion would ensure that the fire isn't put out right away and instead is allowed to just burn itself out, destroying (for the most part) most or all of the evidence. Firefighters aren't going to put themselves in obvious danger to put out the fire if bullets are firing off all around.
