And how will the cops somehow manage to frick this story up?

"Authorities had seized the dogs as part of the investigation. It has not yet been determined what happens next for them."

Not sure how I feel about this, the intruder I don't feel sorry for but there seems like a lot of scenarios where this could go wrong.

Well, the biggest one that comes to mind is that the authorities could have the dogs put down.

If the dogs were up to date on their rabies vaccinations, they shouldn't have been seized.

Okay, I get your point. However, I hope that the authorities will be reasonable and just issue the owner a citation if his dogs are unvaccinated.

If they weren't vaccinated, they'll definitely be quarantined at least.

I would have almost put money on it that it was two of those dangerous Golden-doodles. Those dogs are more blood thirsty than a pack of pit bulls.
