Home Automation MOVE TO TECH BOARD PLEASE

Have a family member looking to do some things inside his house. He's looking to add floodlights with motion detectors that he can schedule and control from his phone. Wants to be able to pick any light and not be model specific....I'll be honest, not sure what he means by the last part.
Any recommended companies?

Cheapest option may be to hire an illegal to stand by the switch with a burner phone. Label the switches Uno, Dose, etc and tell him the number you want on/off.

You know you are lazy when you want to turn on a light from a hundred miles away instead of just flipping a damn switch. And why do you need a schedule? That's what motion detectors do. They sense motion and switch on.
