Everyone I know that owns/owned a motorcycle has a motorcycle accident story and the scars to prove it.

Good lesson for the unaware. NEVER proceed through an intersection when the light turns green without looking both ways to make sure some idiot isn't off in la la land and oblivious to the light. ALWAYS slow down just enough to look both ways when approaching a green light to check for the same.

Baw was paying attention.. Good defensive driving skills...

Side note; You think an automated car could've avoided that..?

I know a guy that wears a diaper and will wear one for the rest of his life due to an accident on a motorcycle.

I used to ride a bike when I was in college. Only did it for one year, after yet another close call where I was literally within about two inches of a bad wreck I sold it. Haven't ridden since.

Bikes are great fun to ride flat out but that will get anyone killed. I'd consider it on a closed track maybe but never on a public road.

My wife was hit this way in college. Only thing wrong with your warning is she was the THIRD car through after the light turned green.

Does he ride the undercarriage of the van for a second or 2? Looks like his bike went flying to the right

Believe it or not, an overwhelming majority of motorcycle accidents are at fault of the rider, and not other drivers.
Too many unexperienced riders out there on bikes too big to start on, or simply don't understand the mechanics involved in properly steering a bike at high speeds.

Guess it’s best not to be the first couple of vehicles thru the light.
I was at a similar stop but was initially in the right lane before coming to a complete stop ( would have been first car in right light at the red light). So I thought to myself, I'll get over so those taking a right, can take a right on red. I get over and I"m now the 2nd car at the red light, but in the left lane. We wait and it finally turns green, and then a car runs the red light (for them) and hits the cars in front of me. The car in front of me in my lane (left lane) gets hit and that car and the one that ran the red light keep moving and then hits the car in the right lane. I'm sitting there with all this shite unfolding in front of me and my car is scratch free all b/c I was considerate of the cars wanting to turn right on red, so I got out of that lane. If I were a arse hole, I would have stayed in that lane and got hit. Thank you buddha!

As opposed to what? 30 years ago? Traffic is much safer than it was then. You take your chances on the roads riding a vehicle with no top, crumple zones, seatbelt, or airbags. shite happens. Especially to motorcycle enthusiasts.
