Sadly I see crap like that quite often.

honestly, this is my only issue with organized sports.

Some parents/coaches are huge dicks....psychotic to an extent.
Let the kids have competitive fun.

Unless its a HS State Championship, I honestly see no point. Thankfully I have one for multiple years.

Of course you're still pissed. You're momma. I know how these things work. Your son could end up being the biggest player since Babe Ruth and none of his millions of fans will come close to being as big of a fan of him as you are. That's why athletes almost always look into the camera and say "I love you mom" right after they do something grand.

Exactly. One of the biggest lessons a kid should take away from their little league days is good sportsmanship. And it's one of the easiest lessons for a coach and parents to teach the kids because it requires zero sports knowledge or skill. All you have to do as an adult is live the example of what good sportsmanship is. The kids will see you and learn from your example. But the sad truth is there are far too few good examples and far too many bad examples.

She strikes me more as the type who pulls up to the field, lets the kid out, and asks the coach, "What's the latest I can be back to pick him up?"

I remember a few weeks ago when I first met the parents of the kids I'm coaching this year, now remember these kids are almost all either 3 or 4 years old. I actually had two parents ask why they had to stay for the whole practice when I informed them of my practice policies. Yep.

You're wrong for that.

And BTW I was the mom that took time to throw with her son when dad was off working. I got plenty of bruises because if it.
And a catchers mask is not petty!

That's what some parents think. I mean hell, most of these kids still need help going potty. What the hell are they thinking? Hell, my oldest is 12 and either me or my wife is always at all his practices even to this day (up until the current season I've always been there as his coach). First, we genuinely love watching him have fun and two, accidents and injuries can happen at any time and any level.

BTW, I don't have any like this on my team, but I know of at least two kids on one of the other tball teams still in pull-ups.

Ive been there, its frustrating to say the least.. Between bathroom issues and the occasional meltdown, a parent has to be present until a certain age especially when you are just meeting the kids and parents.

Single moms generally use this time to fornicate.

Being use to 11&12 age kids and now going and starting over with what is basically a team of toddlers for all intents and purposes is a a lesson in patience. but after seeing these kids go out and have fun this past Saturday morning in their first game (we did have 2 meltdowns though)was awesome. When I got home later on I saw a mom had posted a video of her son's first at bat and it struck me that I was the one who was right there with him placing the ball on the tee and telling him how to do it. That's a reward in and of itself and makes being patent with these kids worth it.

Little Johnny can't figure out how not to crap his pants, but surely will be able to quickly figure out the logistics of the 6-4-3 double play.
