Truth. It's big back in Korea too. It's to defeat the traffic cameras. I went there last xmas and noticed it.
They also use Vendetta and Jigsaw masks over there too.
I haven't seen any masks in CenFla. Must be happening in norcal and seattle with the huge asian communities.

On 60 days in this past season, they addressed this as sometimes meth or heroin users wear these masks to cover their faces because of the sores all over their faces

Since people in here insist on floating their 60-minutes Satanic Panic level theories, here's a video y'all can watch and stop passing out misinformation about Halloween, heroin, and brothas. Like a lot of other stuff, someone saw it in Japan (or more likely a magazine) and thought, "that would be a cool/unique thing to do to be really JDM" then the next guy copied it, then the next, and the next.
Just like Euro license plates on BMWs and the little green/yellow arrow on Japanese imports (that sticker is used to indicate a new licensed driver in Japan).
