No that ended his career I thought.

He had a long recovery after that.

it is huge. an early anti-tank gun. Looks like American soldiers holding it. But not an American gun.

Some captured tank gun? But did they have tank guns in ww1? would have to be late. Like 1918.
So much I don't know about WW1.

my guess is a German tank gun of some kind.

I find WWI to be the most interesting event in human history since the fall of Rome.

I believe doctors of the time wore them in an effort to ward off the illness. I've heard the nursery rhyme "Ring Around the Rosie" originated from the Plague.

That's what I said. And yes it did. "Pocketful of posies" refers to the same reason the doctors might've stuffed flowers into the beak.

That is the Pope's Swiss guard.

Uniforms designed by Da Vinci.

actually bad-asses even though the uniforms make them look dainty.

Yep, I knew you were a tank guy. I just thought it was awesome looking for back then, yet so impractical.

She was an odd animal for sure. Seeing how you're named for perhaps the most famous artilleryman in history, here's one for you....

Whats the name of this massive cannon?

To give it some scale....

No idea...but it's bad arse. It reminds me of the tank that Ernest P Worrell found and stradled in Ernest Rides Again.
