looks like a mortar. But for show. Those balls look too big for it too.

I wanted to say something French.
But it doesn't look French. ( I didn't know Nap's nickname even the other day lol)

Hmm. That thing looks more like 17th century. That carriage doesn't look right either. Like it was made way later.

IDK though. I was trying to read the writing on it, but can't make it out.

I think that it looks ornamental.

Holy Roman empire maybe?

No idea...but it's bad arse. It reminds me of the tank that Ernest P Worrell found and stradled in Ernest Rides Again.

Never saw that movie. As for the cannon I posted, it's called the "Tsar Cannon". I got he idea to post it when Napoleon posted the picture of the "Tsar Tank".

crazy I thought all the big bore guns from 14th-18th centuries were all from the Holy Roman Empire.

like this bad-boy

quote:

The Pumhart von Steyr is a medieval supergun from Styria, Austria, and the largest known wrought-iron bombard by caliber.[1] It weighs around 8 tons and has a length of more than 2.5 meters. It was produced in the early 15th century and could fire, according to modern calculations, an 80 cm stone ball weighing 690 kg to a distance of roughly 600 m after being loaded with 15 kg of gun powder and set at an elevation of 10°.[2]

This is one of the quadruple automatic 40mm Bofors, mounted on a fast-swinging turret which brings its guns to bear on rapidly moving planes. The new battleships are covered with these 20mm Oerlikons and heavier pieces.
