Oaks on the Bluff had one of their entrances flooded but I can't recall seeing too much water on 74 at Bluff.

Further down Bluff, near the dangerous curve and "swamp," I've seen water come on the road before.

Always wondered about the neighborhoods off 74. Are most in a flood zone?

The Baptist church across from Moss Pointe is taking in water. Always does when we get a lot of rain.

Moss Pointe is not in a flood zone. I can't speak for the others.

I'm in oak alley. The oak alley entrance is gonna be screwed by morning. The other one shouldn't have a prob. Moss pointes lake is huuuuuge, but I think it's fine. Last time I passed was about 6

Damn, that sucks. We had friends that lived in Lakes at Dutchtown and they never flooded.

Just came back home and the homes on the "wrong" side seem to be fine, but no way I would have ever built there. The other side of the road is +6-8ft...

Oak alley isn't in a flood zone either. It would have to rise 3-4 feet more for me to have a prob

The retention ponds up front are certainly overflowing. A few more feet and it could impact 74 - at least that's what I saw around 6 tonight.

Lakes at Dutchtown, Legacy Hills and Twin Oaks all looked pretty good to me. Twin Oaks' residents in some areas were taking in a lot of water in their backyards but did not appear in imminent danger.

I live in one of the ones you named, and we drain great. Hurricanes, and heavy heavy days of rain never an issue.

Passed by on 74 earlier today on way to drop a friend off and it was really high. Those ponds were almost to the road.

A lot of Bluff drains down to the back of Ridge Rd. We have been complaining down ridge for 10 yrs to get the drainage ditch/canal cleaned because they had oak and gum trees 3 foot in diameter growing in the middle of a major drainage area. We finally got it taken care of this past election. This summer they started at the back of the road and are working to the front and have only made it half way down Ridge so far. The back is draining just fine but it's still plugged up from the middle of Ridge all the way back up to Bluff which has the water just stacking up. Once this project is completed it should drain with no problem.

3-4 ft for a retention pond would probably require 30 more inches of rain. You'll be fine.

Likely waiting on some kind of approval from environmentalist to get rid of those massive oaks up front.

You guys dry up north?

My Mom is off of 74 near Chester Diez. Constant rain but no standing water thankfully. She just moved here in February but the house is not in a flood zone and did not flood in March.

Yeah, the house is fine. Currently dealing with the wifey being on call tomorrow (home health nurse) & having a shite ton of patients scattered all around the BR area. No way she's gonna be able to see all these people. It's fricking stupid. /rant
