The potential consequences are much different.
For example, teenage boys can’t get pregnant. That’s not to say a 15 year old boy couldn’t get a 27 year old woman pregnant, but given the way our society (and biology) works the burden would fall on the woman, not the 15 year old boy.
If a 15 year old girl gets pregnant, it changes her life much more dramatically.
Here’s another example: HIV is MUCH more likely to be passed from male to female than the other way around.
ETA: To put it another way, if a 27 year old woman gets pregnant from a 15 year old boy and peace’s out to avoid being caught as a sex offender, the adult has made the decision to be a single mother.
If a 27 year old man gets a 15 year old girl pregnant and peace’s out to avoid being caught as a sex offender, the child now has to raise a baby in high school.

It is different for girls and boys. I helped raise one of each from birth to adulthood. Girls get pregnant, boys don't. As for the maturity factor, in some ways girls may mature a little earlier on some things, but not all things. There are still some vulnerabilities. There is still peer pressure. Any way you cut it, they're still children in adolescence, and both sexes of adolescents take longer to mature now compared to 40 years ago.
