"And we'd steal away, any chance we could,
To the back rooms, alleys or the trusted woods"

Hmmm. Lakefront New Orleans and Bonnabel Boat Launch were big in my day. I had a girlfriend tell me she didn't want to fool around in some public parking lot, she jokingly said something about she'd only do something in a car if we had our own privately-owned parking area.

Ironically, just a few months later my family bought a small grocery store in Lakeview that had a small parking area behind the store, with a low wall blocking it from the back street view. I felt like the shite when I took her there one night and said "Alright, our own private parking lot"

I can recall hearing about a band director getting it on or trying to get it on with a band mom many moons ago in the auditorium. Don’t recall how he got caught, but today everything would be under surveillance so no more getting it on on campus anymore.

He had just moved from the Baton Rouge area and lasted a year and a half. One of the assistant principals had to fill in for the rest of the year since he was a former band director. I don’t believe it made news since it wasn’t a student and he left after the incident. So no Facebook outrange parents back then.

V, but growing up in BR, I don't remember there being a spot like that. Thinking about it now, I'm not sure where it would even be if there was one.

Is this just one of those movie things that doesn't exist in real life?

Dude. One of the best things about Baton Rouge back in my day was the number of spots along the levee between LSU and St Gabriel you could drive over and be secluded for the entire night without a care in the world. Hookin up, Drinkin booze, smokin joints, etc. Was perfect. Some of those spots still exist with no gate/cameras.

2. Cement Plant across the tracks from Anselmo(between essen and bluebonnet where Picardy goes now).

3. Strain Rd Beach

4. Highland Road Park(you could squeeze your car through some gaps in the little green barriers and get down in the valley close to where Cross Country starts and finishes(Do NOT do this when wet) and nobody would know you're there all night long.

5. The top floor of the parking garage behind Worley(was Jacobs) on Essen, accessible from Summa. Cars couldn't see you parked up there from anywhere.

Just off the top of my head in SEBR.

Cornfields were the most prevalent, but you had to get it in during the time it's high enough to hide a car until harvest time.
