Be careful with such things, there seems to always be some weird side effect.

Also, Crestor is one of the stronger statins but is expensive
Generic Crestor(rosuvastatin) is now on the market. I just switched to the generic.

There isn't much for stomach problems that I am aware of.
CoQ 10 has some limited data to prevent muscle pain associated with statins, and keeping your vitamin d from getting low can help too.

Fish oil at the appropriate dosage has been proven to lower tgs. You just have to get enough of the dha/EPA oils. Unfortunately, OTC fish oil products dont have a lot of that and you end up needing to take like 10 pills or something to actually get the correct amount.
Prescription fish oils like lovaza, however, are formulated with appropriate levels of dha and EPA oils.

If you take red yeast rice make sure you take it with CoQ10.

Are high triglycerides genetic as well?

They can be, but tg aren't as implicated in heart disease as others.
Primary concern with tgs is when they get >500 and significantly increase the risk of pancreatitis.

I had the NMR Lipoprofile With IR markers done a few weeks ago.
My LDL-P is 1477
HDL-C-54
Triglycerides-85
IR Score-26
LDL is high, but the LDL size is 21.3 which is good.
My doctor basically just said we'll wait and see till next year's bloodwork. My LDL-P is high, but everything else is pretty great. It's confusing to say the least.
I'm doing a high fat low sugar diet btw and my numbers were much, much worse last year before starting this diet. Like triglycerides over 200 worse.
