Hmmm,,,Im at a loss for words on an internet message site. That hasn't happened in years. You can let us in here, or we'll just head out into the scrub and come in over there.
Long story short, I am the first guy here of a group of 5 or 6 that have decided to stop patronizing another site due primarily to two or three people that, over the years have made the site unbearable. Sixteen years. Wow.
And its otherwise a pretty nice site-its a fishing site based in the Northeast Corridor. And its an OK place otherwise, covers the Northeast well. Ive met many fishing buddies there, made some friends, gotten some work (!), Ive even gone to a couple of funerals sadly. But issue just pop up in the evolution of the place, and maybe my need for a place like that.
First, the issue of fishing. In this connected world, you can no longer discuss fishing online. You will be pestered, bothered, people will email you asking for hot spots, invite themselves fishing, ask for GPS numbers, etc etc etc. I had to stop writing online about fishing a few years ago. Between what happened to me and what I saw going on in other people, places it was getting frustrating. About 5 years ago, I watched as the Iphone fishermen finally found and invaded a once completely hidden Sea Run Brown Trout hole near my home. When I lamented it online (in a fishing site I have been using since 2002 mind you-I am KNOWN in that community), I got several replies of "screw you pal, we found it, its not yours go to hell. Last time I ever posted about fishing on the internet. And I never will again, except maybe with you guys, your far enough away. Most people on the fishing chats don’t mean any real harm, I just think they don’t understand the weight of their words.
Which leads to the politics section of the board. As I write this introduction, I realize I could write a book on my experiences there. Really, what an interesting phenomenon, the number of people being able to discuss these issues in real time. A lot of good bad and ugly. Without going on forever, I am glad to have been a part of it.
On the negative side, a few personalities have taken control of the site. Its inevitable I guess, but these are very negative people. As such, many of us chose to not view pages and create revenue for the men that own the site if they choose to run it the way they do.
I stumbled across this site a few years ago. I trust you folks understand what utter genius The Jambalaya Calculator is, right? I think it is proof there is a God. And the cookbook is gold to a Southern expat. So you caught my eye.
Anyway, I have way more to say, but for now I come hat in hand, asking for refuge from the Yankee Horde. And my buds. As for formal introduction, I am Little, it’s a nickname I have had since hi school (my dad is Big Johnny, I am-Little Johnny), nhlittle for here. I am from Nashville, spent time growing up in North Georgia, Vandy 1987, Atlanta, brief stint in New Orleans. And in 1999, the woman of my dreams invited me to share her life, but it required a bit of a move. And now I find myself on the Seacoast in a little town called Rye New Hampshire. I was dragged here kicking and screaming. I’ll never leave.
More later. Zyb, JR, I think its ok, come on in. Go back and get the other guys.

Welcome new friends. I'm happy you're here.

Get your arse quickly over to the outdoor board to commiserate about your fishing problems. The OT is going to disappoint you if you’re looking to avoid negativity.

Welcome, duck, and if you think your other site had assholes..... well, your stay here may be brief. Also, the Outdoor Board is a much friendly environment than The O-T. Again... welcome and Frick Off!

You seem to be awefully concerned with OweO in many of your posts.

Maybe he can discuss the flooded corn fields up north.
