I found out recently that my hometown of Thibodaux had a German Prison camp with 400+ prisoners during WWII.

Crazy stuff.

Baton Rouge has a very sizable Vietnamese population which has always been centered around Vinh Phat ( Florida blvd ). We don’t have a “ Chinatown “. We have a Little Saigon. Many of the second generation Vietnamese have moved to the better neighborhoods in S Baton Rouge and out to Prairieville . Wherever you find them, they make our community much, much better.

Near LSU you have many Chinese students. Also S Asians .Baton Rouge has never had many East Asians by comparison. And very very few Japanese and Koreans specifically.
