This thread is about the 23% spike in ods

I understand that.....but part of the rise in ODs is just because use is also on the rise. It is a combination of the two.

appreciate what you are saying. My main point is that the 3 heroin addicts I know are just plain rotten people that use people and don't care who they hurt .. none of the 3 were like that before being addicted .. just an awful drug.

Yet, all three are still alive, which proves the point. Its not the heroin in itself.

Drugs dont make people evil, drugs just amplify the traits you already posses.

I know enough people clean and sober plus my own drug history enough to know that drugs dont make you someone you aren't deep down already.

Take girls and meth. Methvis popular because it makes girls want to frick. But readt to frick meth girl had thoughts or inhibitions about being a hoe before the drugs were untroduced, the drugs just bring the inhibitions to the fore front.

Drugs have never made me do shite I would not have done Anyway. I dont steal, just how I was raised, and I've saved dope that people left and gave it back to them. Never robbed anyone for drugs. In the other hand im a bit of a whore lol and I've willingly used drugs as s lure to get sluts to act slutty.but I'd do that sober

You are correct that it does bring out your inhibitions....but it will change people.

You go far enough down the rabbit's hole and at some point nothing else matters other than getting that next bump.

That is when people change. When they get to the point that the dope is the only thing that matters in life.

I'm with you. I've done some things in my past that I look back and it just wasn't me. shite I've ashamed of. Stuff I wasn't raised to do. Chances I never thought I would take....

The saying in rehab is "you haven't fallen that far YET" and you need to always know that that rabbit hole will take you extremely far and past where you ever thought your morals could go.

I have plenty plenty of things I'm proud that I stuck to my morals and haven't ever done 'yet' but I know plenty of people that done some horrible things out of character behind getting loaded and that life style. It's a horrible thing.

And its like I said seems like meth addicts are the worst at pressuring friends and paramours into trying meth as well.

Misery and meth addicts love company.

Addiction affects the brain in such a way that you're literally mentally ill. Judgement goes out the window as the frontal cortex is affected. It affects impulse and judgement in a very negative way. It takes years to get back to a somewhat normal thinking process. I'm not sure I'll ever be what I was before alcoholism.

People need to realize that addicted people do not have normally functioning brains, are damaged and make poor choices by default.

Heroin if used properly isn't as bad as it's reputation.

Ok, then please explain the proper way to use it then.

Because I completely disagree....heroin and meth are both horrible.

Thanks Trump. Is that the new thing?

I read a series of articles about 6 months ago in the Washington Post about white females between the ages of 30-55 being the leading demographic for death. In the article, it explained how rural America is decimated by the ecconomic times and this leads to divorce, which puts these women in financial hardships. And because of it, they get depressed, turn to drugs, and since heroine is cheap, it's the drug of choice. And the drug leads to overdoses and many die. It was a deprsssing series.

Correct use of heroin is a little bit of an exaggeration. Heroin is not made by Bayer anymore. It's a street drug cut with lord knows what and dirty.

Opiates are generally regarded as the best pain killer. That's ALL it does. Relieve pain. It's side effects IF USED PROPERLY are virtually nil. Basically you can't shite.

When misused or overused, and that's the slippery slope, it's side effects are horrendous. Death and addiction.

All other forms of pain medications have side effects when used properly. Kidney damage, liver damage, bleeding, dysrhythmias, hallucinations.

I believe that. Go to any 'dope doctor' and the waiting room is packed full of middle aged women getting their scrips of roxys for fibromyalgia
