It's your argument and you want us to find the data to make it?

Doing nothing means letting sick people go to work, never showering or cleaning, etc. that’s what you were dealing with in 1918. If we simply treated this as an illness that we don’t want to spread, then we treat it like we always should have been treating them. If you’re sick, stay home, keep your kids at home if they’re sick. Wash your hands often. On and on. That alone keeps this from killing a million people which is insane. Swine killed 12k over a year here before a vaccine was ever available. It was twice as deadly as the flu and it actually started in this country. Come on people.

What happens when they get out of lockdown? Might the disease spread again?

You mean the one that's nominally successful?
50-60% is pretty effective
and even when it does't fully prevent, it reduces symptons
so yeah...that one

What about the bird flu?
What about it? Outbreaks are very rare.

Seems the wise thing to do is protect the vulnerable since they're the ones dying from this illness.
Which is exactly what these precautions are meant to do...?

Not logical to me. Just isnt

Sure, it's concerning, but let's not act like our media has helped limit panic. It's Orange Man Bad, all the time. The media and establishment are absolutely loving this, and just so happens the Saudis tank oil prices at the same time. Good times ahead for this country.

I'm not arguing it makes complete sense to me either
I absolutely believe some of this is an over reaction
but at the end of the day, I'm going to defer to people that know more about this than me

Go the the joe Rogen experience podcast with Micheal osterhelm (second to last episode) he wrote a detailed book on this exact scenario and what we need to do to prepare (completely ignored of course) and his group they modeled this year. They have been 100% on so far, if you want Unbiased expert opinions and facts.
And this is America, been here long? Family here since 1600s and we generally overact right everything, kinda why were are a County.
As Winston Churchill used to say, “The states never react to anything, they overreact to everything.” Lol
Micheal Osterholm the expert that warned us

Give the elderly some sense of security, false or real.. If you're under sixty, healthy lungs you're going to be fine.

Ah the ole "I'm not affected by this" while defending draconian measures.
Sure *wink*
You'll be more affected by the over the top reactions than you will the virus.

then why is that chart from the World Health Organization showing that no one under 80 has died?
I agree, i'm pretty sure i remember hearing there have been a few cases of people under 80 dying.

No one under the age of 10 has died.

I wasn’t listed so they assumed it was a troll.

Clearly this is a big deal, but I think questioning the degree of response is fair when you consider what’s at stake. DJIA is down another 8% this morning. That isn’t a direct reflection of what will happen to GDP, but I think it’s fair to assume that we’re looking at a significant negative impact to the broader economy.
This may sound callous, but I think it’s reasonable to discuss just how restrictive we want to be as a society in response to a virus that most drastically impacts the elderly and already unhealthy. People also die when the global economy collapses, even without a new virus.
