...... Humm, when did the Governor order restaurants closed?.. I heard him state that the CDC has asked all restaurants to close but that he would like them to close the dining areas and only use curb side or drive thru....the Governor can’t order restaurants to close... there’s no “governors” proclamation that can force a restaurant to close...so are you paying attention?...

Gov. Edwards orders Louisiana bars, theaters closed, restaurants limited due to coronavirus

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Businesses across Louisiana are being forced to change their daily operations as the fear of coronavirus tightens its grip on society.
quote:
Gov. John Bel Edwards took additional significant measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19 in Louisiana, further limiting the size of gatherings to fewer than 50 people, closing casinos, bars and movie theaters and limiting restaurants to delivery, take out and drive-through orders only. These changes are effective statewide at midnight. Operations may be able to resume on April 13, however, the situation will be reevaluated seven days prior. In Louisiana, there are 132 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and two people have died.

If you are cash strong, order food from restaurants, use drive thrus and go buy things. Don’t let the fear freeze this thing up. People’s jobs and your 401ks depend on it. Even if you get a welfare check, tax revenue backs it and they need workers to pay taxes to collect it... we all have a vested interest in keeping goods and services rolling as best as possible while being on lock down.
enjoying good food at a local diner and tipping the ladies handsomely for the great service as always.
not participating in this "crisis" BS.

It might be in everyone's own self-interest to beginning to rethinking the "economy", the complete wrong approach has been taken by the orangeman. A heavy price will have to be paid. Good luck guys.

We're not going to be locked in our homes
You know what he means. We are asked to stay home, as we should as much as possible. I live in Houston, and most are either working from home or out of a job. So, yes it feels very much like a lock down. The economy will hurt badly if this doesnt end soon.

What the orangeman is doing is very little chance of working.

You don't need 15 days of this silly social distancing, or 30 days, realistically you need at the low end 6-12 months, and its very possible 18 months. If you're wrong, which the Koreans and Chinese will eventually figure out... you start over to day 1.
So, the Orange Man went all in on saving Granny (the 1%) and fricked over the 99% because without an economic system, people will die from the collapsed economic system. But the kicker is, Granny probably still won't be saved.
Things might at some point appear to improve, but underneath is a dirty little secret - its not.
This week they will tell you 15 days by next week they will tell you 30 days, then it will be 60 days....
You don't bet the 99%'s life against the 1% when all you have is deuce high.
This will be a collapse of epic proportions.

It’s not 1%. Persons over 65 make about 17% of the American population.
The “Orange Man” (and his entire staff plus propaganda ministry, Fox) went all in on denying the threat (“it’s a hoax”) and twiddling their thumbs. This is a case study for why he doesn’t have the “right stuff” to be president:
1. He can’t be bothered with briefIngs to become informed.
2. He surrounds himself with sycophants
3. He overestimates his own intelligence and ignores those who know more (classic Dunning-Kruger). Remember his “I have a natural understanding if these things”?
4. He doesn’t understand or know how to orchestrate the government.
5. He puts his interest above all else.
6. He’s incapable of marshaling the resources he has available and develop a cohesive, cogent plan of action.

Yes, more of the population is in that range, but not all those people are going to show symptoms, or even get really sick... matter of fact, unless one has a pre-existing condition... the chances of dying with this is very slim.
If we look at the numbers, most probably the 80+ need to be in isolation, and a good portion of the 70+ year olds with pre-existing conditions need to be isolated... until better treatments can be found... or spin the wheel.
As far as isolating everyone else, which is what the orange man is trying to do... serves very little purpose unless the plan is to realistically isolate for 12-18 months.
What will probably happen, cases will spike and come down... he will proclaim victory... the economy will be destroyed... few months down the road... the virus will start to spike again.
This whole flatten the curve people are idiots. If Granny goes to the hospital, at that stage she is most likely dead or soon will be... you have to stop Granny from ever seeing the hospital.
