Help with building a cedar table

I'm remodeling at work and will have a bunch of cedar that would probably make a good table. I'm in need of a dining room table so I thought I'd give this a go. I think I would need the most help in designing as my brain just doesn't have the creativity. I know I can just go on Pinterest but I thought there might be some good info here, even at this hour on the OT. I've attached a few photos of the wood that I will have. The pillars are also coming out and I've thought that they could be used to make legs of some sort. Thanks in advance.

That's nice. What are your thoughts on cedar for a dining room table? I see it used for outside for obvious reasons.

i wanted a live edge dining table sooooooo bad, but we ended up getting a rustic looking table from z gallerie....
but the live edge stuff looks cool, if done right... cedar ain't my cup of tea, but here's to it working out for you....

Cedar is fine but it dents very easily. Make sure you use a finish that will harden it up a bit.

It wouldn't be my first choice of wood but it is a good amount and very free.

Friend does. I basically need to just come up with a design. If I have leftover wood I don't mind sharing. No promises though. We might have a bunch of wood from the interior as well.

but if it were me, i'd use the cross beams as the legs, not the trunks... they are too big, from the looks of it, to be used as legs...
but that's just me... like i said, i hope it works out for ya...
i'd love to get a bunch of old pallets and use that wood, with a white wash applied to it, to line my ceiling above the kitchen in the house we are building right now, but i don't think the wife would go for it.... i like that rustic, wood floor on the ceiling look....

6ft is what I thought of off the top of my head. Thought about taking a couple of the wider planks and surrounding them with some of the smaller planks.

Are those roof beams coming down, too? If so, I'd make a massive table out of them. Be heavy as shite, but it'd look like you were King Charles I eating at that thing, telling everyone else to FO.

see, i'd do the exact opposite... i'd take the smaller ones, stain them various shades, and have the larger planks monochromatic around the smaller ones.... the larger border would make the table appear bigger from a distance....

my future bro in law does some really good work... he's from Lockport, but he's up in Monroe right now while my sis is in pharmacy school... but i'm gonna get that son of a bitch to make me some end tables and shite....
with furniture and shite, he's good enough that i'd bankroll him if he wanted to start up a business.... seriously....
i know that doesn't really help you out, but the idea i just gave you came from something he did to the house they bought and are refurbishing up there in Monroe....
