Whatever you are willing to pay. Cut $3000 off of it and shop online. Probably 50 dealerships within driving distance, somebody will bite. Works everytime. Also play dealerships against each other
You haven't seen the current F-250 inventory levels. Dealers have almost nothing in stock, I have probably 20 dealers within a 2 hour drive of me, and dealers that would normally have a dozen or more mid to high spec F-250's have had only a handful over the past 6 months.

Exactly.....I have a 7.3 F250 on order and it should be here in February. I was almost in disbelief when I found out most dealers were not budging very much at all regarding price. I used the method of emailing roughly 10 reputable dealers from Louisiana as well as TX. I finally agreed to a price of $750 below invoice (here in Baton Rouge) which was slightly better than X plan. I’m hoping to receive a PCO before the truck comes in! Back in 2012 on my last F250 I got over $10,000 off sticker with no haggling at all. Apparently during the lockdown everyone purchased boats and travel trailers...then went after the 3/4 ton trucks lol.

Robinsons Brothers Ford in BR likes special orders and are aggressive on pricing for special orders. I'm sure you could get a few buck cheaper in Houston, but probably not on a special order.

$750 below invoice is a good price, depending on spec you're getting nearly half the holdback which is what my normal guy would always do for me on an ordered truck. Invoice minus half the hold-back minus any rebates.
I bought a 2020 off the lot, and had a $2,000 PCO so I ended up around $9500 off, considering the current market I was happy with that. I bought at Thanksgiving, earlier in the year the lots were totally bare, and knowing the market would get tighter again at the end of the year, December is a tough time to buy a big truck due to tax write-off buyers.
I ended up with a Lariat with the sport now called black package. I would have gotten a Platinum but the only ones I found were loaded with 5th wheel packages and other crap that had them around $85k, just not worth it to me.
They do have some quirks with the packages. I didn't care about the black rims etc but the black package includes LED headlights. The online builder and even window stickers aren't really clear about this fact but the LED lights are phenomenally better than the halogens and a great upgrade.
The trailer backup assist which I will never use also has the lane keep assist and the 360 degree camera, both of which I like so its good to review a few of those items closely when looking at lariat configurations.
If OP is looking for the new bright blue color I would expect that color to be near impossible to find in stock. I don't know any dealers in your area but the tough factor right now on ordering trucks is the dealers are thin on inventory, demand is high especially this time of year and they get allocations so some dealers don't want to use them up on a low margin buyer on an ordered truck. Its simply easier to sell the guys walking on the lot.
My normal guy is in NC, I can get you his info but if you have a couple larger dealers around you I would shop them on doing an order for a little under invoice. As long as they don't have a lack of allocation they should jump all over it.
Best in-stock prices I found advertised last month in LA were at Matt Bowers, best I found in TX were Holiday Ford near Dallas. I didn't waste my time with dealers who only had one or two in stock or advertising MSRP.

Jacksonville, not the easiest place to get to, he didn't have anything that would work for me this time and I didn't have the time to order otherwise I would have gone back.
Hour from Wilmington, 2 hours from Raleigh airport.

So as a long term reader of the OT I know the Will Cover method of buying a new car. I also know the strategy of emailing 30 dealerships with what you want and choose the best offer after 48 hours. Does anyone have any advice for ordering vehicle?
2 pieces of advice:
1 The Will Cover method of being a count to multiple dealers isn’t going to get you very far with ordering a vehicle. You may want to approach this as a reasonable person.
2. The fact that you somehow owe $36k on a leased Tundra has no impact on it’s worth. As an example, if it was fully paid for, it would not be worth $0.

Have you searched nationally for the exact vehicle you want OP? I'd try that, you can either ship it or fly in and drive it home. I'd try to find it and then work a deal for that vehicle, and not order it.
If you order something that's in high demand you certainly aren't going to get anyone to give you a great price, they know everything is in their favor.

Yes, I tried that and found something close in Georgia. They required a trade if I didn't want to pay MSRP.

You realize they are just making you pay msrp and making their money on the trade anyway right?
I’d negotiate with them some more. I’ve also heard of dealers trading vehicles. You may consider going to someone that’s playing ball and asking them to get that truck for you.

Really? Is that their lowest rate for anyone? Seems like that's at least 250% too high for anyone with good credit.

Exactly, that's why I started this thread to ask for tips to buy/order a F250 without being required to trade.

I don't think I mentioned but I did not trade on the one I just bought and it was priced well.
